I’m curious on what kind of content people like in GW2. Open world, closed limited team high reward content or PvP/WvW?

I personally prefer open world content that doesn’t require parties.

I second the open world content. I do play other modes, but hands down PVE is my favorite and I love exploring and eye candy, gathering and stuff other people may find boring.

Open world content for me as well.

I like doing the storylines, but I also enjoy just exploring the map. Wandering around speaking to the NPCs and listening to their dialogue, playing through the event chains, trying to climb the scenery (where I know there is a jumping puzzle, where I’m not sure and where I’m sure there isn’t but I think I can get up anyway), taking screenshots…

I do like the big, structured event chains like Silverwastes and Dragon’s Stand too, but I’ll usually only do them once and then go do something else and maybe come back in a few days or a week or whatever.

Having said that though I think one of the things I really like about this game is the variety. I think it’d be quite boring if it was all open-world PvE. It’s nice to have all the other stuff there as well and to be able to switch between it freely. The only thing I don’t do is structured PvP and I’ve not gotten around to raids yet.

I like to RP, and open world content complements that pretty well. It’d also be nice if they didn’t completely ignore the existence of the RP aspect of the game, though. (The LFG tab is so useless it’s insulting). So in that vein, I like maps that feel alive, but have quiet corners that aren’t overflowing with enemies. Things to explore, places to stop and take things in. Immersion and lore are great things.

  • i enjoy hoarding loot in PvE, mostly open-world-style, and playing barbie wars.
  • i also REALLY enjoy smashing zergs together in messy WvW, and playing build wars.
  • i also kinda like sPvP except: Whiny quitty teammates, hour-long ranked queues, no build diversity, HoT pay-to-win, cringeworthy espurts.

But as Danika said, the variety is what keeps me. Raid-exclusive legendary armor is what’s prolly going to make me quit or move on to a new game.
