As we get ready for the Out of the Shadows update, I’d like to ask everyone to please (please, please, please, and please) use care in posting comments or insights that may spoil the new content for those who have not had a chance to play it yet.

Just flag a discussion with [SPOILER] in the title and players will be able to avoid knowing more than should be known.

Thanks very much for your courtesy and consideration for all players.

That could be a very wise measure.

I think it’s safe to say that one should expect spoilers in the bug forum. It’s hard to explain where, when, and how a bug appears without giving a lot of information.

Browse that forum at your own risk.

Sarcasm, delivered with a
delicate, brick-like subtlety.

As nice as this try is, I think it should be obvious to everybody, that such a posting like this won’t be enough to stop people from spoilering, because humans are simply way too carefree, ignorant, intolerant and selfish to not spoiler other players, be it willingly, or even unintentionally and its in my opinion also not the job of the moderators here to constantly watch over the forums, if there isn’t eventually somewhere a posting, that could include content, that could spoiler anyone maybe..

The best advice for everybody to not get spoiled is simply to avoid the forums completely from day one on once LS3 has started until you have played through the new content, so that you can’t get spoiled again.
Avoid other players, from which you can expect that they are further in progress of the game than they, because talking with them could eventually end up with unintentional spoilers for you.

So the best advice is to play the new content as much as solo as possible until you have played the new content through, then play it again as a group when nothing and nobody can spoil you anymore because you know the new story content already.

And first then once you have done that, then return to the forums where you also can’t get spoiled then anymore.

I can say you already know, that the very moment LS3 starts, there will be for 100% sure within the first hours after release alread<y lots of new threads and postings here which include text that would spoil somethign for other playyers, if they read it.

Again ,I can repeat myself here on,, its not the job of ANet to control here absolutely everythign and everyone’s written words, if they could contain any “spoilers”
Thats going too far in my honest opinion

People which don’t want to get at all spoiled, just shouldnt enter the forums, if they still do it, they DO IT AT THEIR OWN RISK OF GETTING EVENTUALLY SPOILED.

Thats how I do see this.

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

I believe our community is made up, in large proportion, of considerate people. This friendly reminder may help and certainly cannot hurt the process of allowing people to participate in the forum, if they care to do so.

You may choose your method, but others will not make that same choice. Hence, my suggestion.

You guys better not read your mail for a few weeks, too. The last time someone tried to spoil me, they just mailed all the info to my mailbox.

We tend to cut Taimi a little slack. But seriously, Taimi’s journal was written to prevent actual spoilers, as distinguished from hints, suggestions, or leading comments. Saying “Something’s happening” and “This thing happened” are worlds apart, eh?
