Playing the new dungeon after supposedly they fixed the bug where the npc will stand still and not open the door. So many npc bugs where they have a stupid job to do and are like “man this job is so hard i’m just gonna stand here and think about toasters.”

Her job was to push a switch, if her lazy butt cant get in time why dont we just push the switch? Keep npcs but stop having them do jobs.

Another possible idea is add a bugged npc option to their talk diaolgue, where it resets the npc as if they got killed, or kill them because sometimes when they get killed they start working again idc what happens to nvestigator kier her name starts with k so she must die.

Games work through scripted events and triggers. Whether the script is essentially

“If event successful → then NPC walks to door and door opens”

or is

“If event successful → then grant access to door button”

doesn’t really make a difference. Code is code and can be bugged just as easily either way. In fact, in your version there would also be a

“If button clicked → then open door”

Which could be bugged in itself somehow. It’s like you’re adding an extra step in the logic and the more steps means more places for problems to come up.

kiel was quite useful to us last run.
3 party members died during the part where like 6 waves of pirates attack you. we were doing alright, but struggling – no possible way to revive the 3. then kiel went and revived them for us because the pirates left her alone. good guy npc.
