Guild Wars 2

So far my Thief is deced out in Rares after i made 400 Leatherworking and now im after some exotics..

i have heard lots of forum posts bragging how easy it is to get exotics, what are peoples opinions on the best way to get them?

1, i spent days farming various locations in orr but the mats needed for exotics are as rare as hens teeth :-(

2, Another option i have tried is to constantly farm Plinx for the karma and buy the exotic gear (This seems like the best way to go – hence always crowded)

Any advice?

The best way to get them is either via karma (Plinx or WvW) or to use the trading post.

Currently I wouldn’t spent that much on exotics since the upcomming ascended gear will make them obsolete. You can get exotic armor and weapons, but don’t waste anything on accessories.

Truth is, the easiest way is probably blending various options, depending on what appearance you’re after (if you’re planning on transmuting, blending is better, otherwise you may end up with an odd mismatch).

I went down the dungeon route – with AC, TA, CoF or HotW you can easily and quickly get a pile of tokens. CoE is also an option, albeit slightly longer and more reliant on a better group). Out of my 5 exo sets, 3 are dungeons, 1 is part dungeon-part crafted, and 1 is crafted.
You are, however, somewhat limited in how often you can run each; in terms of play time this is a quick method, but actual number of days may be longer – it really depends on how many hours per day you have (Mitigated ofc if you’re not focused on a single set).

Well, i do love the look of the Nightmare armour but was put off with dungeons due to certain players attitudes ‘’Yo sux at this Game lol/Shouldn’t do a dungeon without exotics newb’’ etc …
Not fun, but i am a newb :-)
