I was starting to get bored of pve at level 55 with my warrior. I had him playing a DPS class with greatsword and rifle and it was really starting to get stale. I was thinking of taking a break for a bit until more content was released. I started thinking and decided that maybe I just needed to switch up my playstyle a bit.

I decided to build a bleed damage/support through shouts warrior. I sold all my old DPS armor and gear on the trade post and bought entirely new cond. damage weapons, swords and a long bow. I then found myself playing around 13 hours today with little to no break addicted once again.

So my suggestion if you’re complaining about longetivity or getting bored. Switch up your build. Just one of the things guild wars 2 does different then other MMOs that really kicks kitten

NO this doesn’t work. Good PvErs constitantly change their builds according to the fights that’s ahead especially in dungeons.

Also this doesn’t change the nature of the content nor the lack of it, just the way to play it, it’s like changing clothes to light your day it doesn’t make the day any brighter.

Lol how does one “change your build” for every fight? You can change your builds for the dungeons, sure, but in open world pve this makes no sense.

I don’t get how people are claiming there’s a lack of content. I’m about 140 hours into the game and only level 62 from playing around 3 hours a night after work. I’d say that’s a kitten good amount of content to me and I’m not even 80 yet, haven’t even touched a dungeon, sPvP, or WvW. Some of you guys just need find another hobby if you’re complaining about a lack of content because you’ve done it all already, or change your build to suit a different role of your group and see how the changing of play mechanics can breathe new life into the game for you.

This is one of the main reasons I AM bored. There are just far too few “builds” or skill variety to keep me interested.

Maybe I’m just hard to please but it’s one of the biggest things I look for in an MMO.

It’s not the lack of content for me, I just get bored before I can do it all because it’s the same thing over and over. Necro for example, rotate skills stack bleed, spread bleed, repeat. Or, rotate weapon skills, life blast x5, rotate weapon skills, drop wells, repeat. Blargh.

I can understand this. I tend to play one build for a long time until it either doesn’t work efficiently or I get bored with it.

But have you tried using different combinations of trait point skills? Screwing around with them, trait point placement, weapon and utility combinations should offer a large variety of builds to toy with.

After playing GW1 there’s not enough build variety in this game to compare to the predecessor, feels like a major step back.

I’ve been playing and experimenting/theorycrafting with traits/builds since BWE2. I’ve done it all, and there just isn’t much you can really do to mix things up. Necro is just one of the worst in that regard, on top of limited weapon choices. Warriors definately have an edge there, they have quite a bit more weapon choices to play around with.

Another part of that is just how alot of things are just useless or situational in PvE compared to PvP, that affects utility choice alot, for every class. The game just needs a boost in skill/trait/build variety overall. I think they were banking on the Action part of the game to make up for it, but it doesn’t. =p

I sold all my old DPS armor and gear on the trade post

I didn’t realise soulbound stuff could be sold on Trade Post, this is good to know. Does it became un-soulbound for the buyer?
