I’ve got 13 characters at present, 3 of which are not level 80. Of these, several are ‘rerolls’ of characters I played for a while and decided I didn’t like —

Sylvari ranger (male) – got to level 20 or so, rerolled as human ranger (also male), now at 80.

Norn guardian (female) – got to level 20 or so, rerolled as Norn guardian (male), rerolled as human guardian (male), now at 80.

Human necro (male) – immediately rerolled as human necro (female), rerolled as human necro (male), rerolled as human necro (female), now at 80.

Human warrior (female) – rerolled as human warrior (female), now at 80.

Along the way I’ve tried several times to play a charr. The longest lasting charr was a necro (male) that got to 20 or so before being rerolled as a sylvari necro (male), who then got rerolled over and over and over until I finally found a skin/hair color combo I liked. Currently on hold in the upper 20s (I think).

So, anyway, do you, fellow forumites, particularly those of you who are altoholics like me, have any (or many) characters you’ve rerolled multiple times before you found just the right combo of race/profession/style? And do you have a level beyond which you won’t consider rerolling? Also, how much does a character’s gear and/or achievements affect your decision?

The table is a fable.

I’ve rerolled a couple of characters, certainly, but past lv50-60 I usually don’t any more. Well technically if they’re still around by that time, they’ve earned my blessings

I do however regularly use a total make-over. Mostly on my Sylvari characters because they have the most dramatic transformations. Depending on new weapons or items they can get a colour and foliage change.

For me, it’s Asura I don’t really enjoy at all. I have one token Asura, but she gets little play time.

ive got much more than twice as much characters than u… if i dont like a character i just create another one i only dleete characters that are younger than 2weeks
like keyfarmers
or chracters unde rlevel 20 where i dont like the hairstyle or something
at some point will have every race / class combination
(i secretly hope anet will at some point increase the max characters you can have so that i can have each klass gender race combination..^^)

if u want to test chras out pvp was good a long time
its still better than most of pve to test out all weapons shouts andchannelling animations
and if you like them or not

btw having so many characters of one class can help u in pvp if u have different builds on your chras and know who plays what i can change quite quickly without changing the whole build

uh their two eles are berserker staff eles?.. brb thief

I’ve rerolled my Mesmer and my Warrior 4-5 times each

And I’ve also tried making a Norn many times for different professions, but I always ended up changing race.

Mesmer twice around level 20: 2 times sylvari and then finally settled on a norn
Ranger also twice around level 20 : Two times norn and ended up with a human
Engineer once at level 40ish: From charr to an asura
Necro once at level 10ish: From charr to sylvari

And I had an asura Warrior that I deleted but I’ll probably end up with an asura Warrior anyway (since I’ll have all 8 classes to 80 some day).

Not rerolling doesn’t mean I’ve always been happy with my characters, however. I used 3 total makeover kits on my sylvari Necro, one on my asura Ele, one on my charr Guard and two hair kits on my asura Engi. I have 2 characters (human Ranger and norn Mesmer) I never changed (yet. XD They’re the newest so who knows).

All my characters are male. :P My main is a human elementalist. My alts are human warrior, Charr guardian and a Sylvari necromancer.

Inbetween I created a Norn mesmer. Mostly for fun, since my friend and I decided to create Norn with long hair and long moustaches. Mine ended up being blond in a pink armour (combine this with their dance and cry emotes xD).

I thought about keeping it, but then decided to create an Asura engineer. Because I just see Asura as engineers. :P I didn’t play much on him and then decided to delete it and create a Norn necromancer. I made it a female so that there would be at least some gender diversity, but rerolled as a female Norn necromancer a couple of times because I wasn’t satisfied with either hair, face or other body features.

Didn’t play it for much long either. So I deleted her and created a female Sylvari Necromancer. Tried her out a bit and then I realised that apparently female characters just aren’t the thing for me. So then I created my male Sylvari necromancer that is now at level 28.

At the moment I have one free space for key farming, but I’m waiting for Character slots sale, so I can create an Asura something and a Norn something.

I have abandonded several fully geared level 80 characters, mostly because I wanted a different race. Now they are used as storage characters or kept for that unlikely time that I would like to play anything else but guardian in WvW.

Sylvari necro, female lvl 80. This was my first and only character for many months. With full ascended trinkets, weapons and lvl 50 fractals, back when everything was soulbound. After trying countless colors, armor + weapons combinations and posting on several forums crying for a race change, I gave up and made a human female necro., lvl 80. I am keeping the human as a berserker character for whenever Anet gets necros a buff. The sylvari is gathering all the malicious armors I get from fractals and at some point I might do WvW with her.

Sylvari male mesmer, fully geared lvl 80. First he became female sylvari, then I made a human female characer and deleted him alltogether. I just needed a free character slot and knew I would never play the first mesmer. I am barely playing the other one either, because of the current mantra meta.

Human male ranger, lvl 80 all ascended. He was female, then male again, and now I have settled for female. But I also made a female norn ranger just because I wanted the medium Tier 3 armor. I like leveling rangers and this norn is now very usefull chopping wood

Asura male engineer, deleted at lvl 12. Norn female engineer, deleted at lvl 30. I cannot get into that class.

Basically I only enjoy playing human female characters. My only norn is a female guardian, but she is the shortest and skinniest possible and looks like a slightly taller human. And I cannot handle playing asuras nor charrs.

I have a sylvari female guardian, abandoned at lvl 36. I wanted the Tier 3 heavy armor, but she does not have a very bright future.

I only rerolled twice. Once to change a name from a pun to something lore appropriate.
Second because the group I made him for fell apart.

The rest I have a long-term plan for in a Google doc. XD
Spec, weapons, race, storyline I haven’t seen yet. All planned out.

Many alts; handle it!

I rerolled Female Asura Ranger (below lvl 10) into Female Sylvari Ranger (lvl 80)

Female Sylvari Thief (below lvl 30) into Female Human Thief (lvl 80)

Male Norn Guardian (below lvl 20) into Female Charr Guardian (lvl 80)

I’m a casual PvE adventurer, I enjoy combat, adventure and helping, but not farming.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

I haven’t re rolled any characters as of yet. I knew before launch that I wanted to create one of each profession and that each race would be represented in them. I’m completely happy with all but two of them.
I had to go back and reduce the size of my charr and norn because of camera issues I was having during jumping puzzles and I’d prefer them larger.
Also with the Charr, I just don’t care for any of the armors on them. They’re beastly, and for some inexplicable reason, I want them to show off their fur and physiques. Since Anet won’t provide me invisible/transparent armor, I guess I have to live with what I’ve got.

My norn is the one I’m most unhappy with. Her looks are an issue because I haven’t found an armor/tattoo combination I like and also, I just can’t seem to play her profession well at all so that is another reason of my dislike of that particular character. I’m still trying to find the right build/playstyle for her.

So 6/8 happy characters is pretty darn good to me. :-)
