Getting rid of junk in-game?
Or better yet, give us Nick’s descendant to collect them! =)
All of the MMOs that I have played have had loot that had absolutely no value other than to vendor. I suppose that they could just increase the coin drop to equate to the junk that they took out of the game, although, it seems to me that having this junk drop does force us to pay attention to inventory management, bag space, etc.
I will end this by saying that the fact that all other MMOs doing it does not make it the right thing to do in GW2. The game is certainly different in many ways so perhaps another approach to loot might work as well.
I think being able to use them in the mystic forge would be cool. Like 250 talons, claws, globs of goo, and broken lock picks or something would give a booster or something. Or maybe some t3 mats. Something to that effect would be nice.
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
Or let us put them into MF to give back some absoultely randomized item that could be something good, more junk etc.

Yeah, there’s enough usable junk in this game that we shouldn’t have complete trash filling up our inventories.
Here’s hoping we get some updates that find better uses for some of this stuff.
If you removed the junk, then the next level of drops above that becomes ‘junk’.
Rather than remove it, I’d like the option to prevent it from displaying and prevent me from picking it up on auto loot.
Some people count their pennies – junk loot is there for them. But most games give you the option to make it invisible.
The purpose of junk is to trigger our senses to remember where we got it from, at least that what a developer stated.
The next few levels above them are already ‘junk’, lol (Bloodstone dust, T5 and 6 leather for example).
An option not to loot it would be nice, though.
It’s called ‘filler’ loot. People playing these games demand that they be rewarded with some form of physical, tangible thing upon killing an enemy. You can’t expect every drop to be usable or worth a large amount of coin, or, as ipan stated above, the next level higher of loot would then become the ‘junk’. You also can’t have a loot drop , whether it be usable or worthy piece of loot or junk, on every 8th or so enemy kill or else players will get bored and either not play, or get kitteny and complain that there is not enough loot drops or that the loot drops that do occur are too infrequent; thus…‘filler’ is applied. It allows for the game to continue uninterrupted.
Take your filler, get your few coins or delete as you get it and enjoy the game for what it is: amazing story, graphics and time well spent; not complaining about something so trivial.
