It’s been awhile since Ive played this game, but here I am, trying to find a good MMO and giving this a second shot. Well, at least for now anyways. The problem is that there’s no one around anymore. I remember when I first started this game a year ago, at least in the starting areas, there were people who I would run into. Now, theres no one. In fact, I spend 1-2 hours of gameplay before I see a single person. And when I do I run like hell because it scares me and I dont know what to do.

There either is/are 3 possibilities:
1. No one plays this game anymore at lower levels. Completely possible, it could be that everyone except me is in the end game and theyre all fartin around some dungeons or something.

2. The server is completely empty. Im on Eredon Terrace. Theres fuggin no one here. There used to be people that I could see walk around occasionally a year ago, but now, it’s just completely empty everywhere.

3. No one plays this game anymore period. Self explanatory, everyone left this game for one reason or another.

What do I do? I cant get into this game, because I cant find anymore playing it! It’s so lonely trying to do events and even looking at those world bosses and thinking, a year ago, I would see multiple people killing them, and now, there’s just me, reminiscing with no one around. It’s just so… boring.

The reason is a mixture of 1. and 2.

ET is one of the lesser populated servers and there are multiple ways to level up quickly these days so as to never have to go to the beginner area maps.

Expac sucks for WvW players. Asura master race

There’s a forth possibility. Everyone is in Lion’s Arch doing the new content, even most of the lower level characters.

You came back on patch day for the last patch of a very long living story arc. A lot of people are in Lion’s Arch, doing the brand new content for the brand new rewards.

That said, some servers are busier than others anyway. There’s still plenty of people playing the game, but I don’t think they’re spread out evenly across all servers.

Everyone guests to Blackgate, Jade Quarry, or Tarnished Coast. There might be a few others but those are the main servers. Since ArenaNet keeps putting content into the game that requires full zones most people just assume their server can’t field enough people(rightly so) and they guest. A lot of people have also moved on from certain content since ArenaNet either nerfs it or something better comes out.

Everyone is already lvl 80 so there’s no reason to go back to those low level areas outside of world bosses. It’s not that no one plays the game or that your server is dead, it;s that everyone is doing stuff lvl 80s would be doing (world bosses, fractals, dungeons, living world, wvw, spvp, guild missions).

Currently everyone and his mom are fighting in Lion’s Arch because it got nuked pretty badly and many people took it quite personally.

There are many people playing- I have spent most of the last couple of patches in overflow when I do Living Story content.

Usually I see plenty of people on the regular maps- it is just that atm the LS is kind of a big deal, being the final wrap after a year.

Don’t know your server though

As already posted, it is a mixture of 1+2.
If you do alts, you will have scrolls, crafting and alt-switching in dungeons to level.
Way faster than going through zones. For me, the zones got boring after my 2nd alt, which was approximately a year ago. I guess it is the same for many others. And new players join high pop servers for obvious reasons.

Specifically for this time period, it is the closure of living story season 1.
LOTS of people do LA. (It is very noticeable when you try to pug for dungeons for example.)

Whilst I can’t be bothered to zerg in LA, I do think that this part of the living story is very popular and a huge success for Anet.

Go to Queensdale there’s always people there, ALWAYS unless it’s not primetime USA then there is usually a few to a handful at most.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?
