I em add this for i think make that u have to get to lvl 14 in wvw to get gift of battle for legendarys.

I play a lot of gw2 from the day it came out but i em not into wvw, but pve, dungeon and fractals i like the new story and achievements that involve team work are great but i have never been a fan of wvw i find it to laggy an uninteresting myself not say others have to but that’s how i feel about it, not my style of play mainly i like to play to enjoy wvw is not that for me and now i cant even make my legendary with out doing it witch is nearly imposable for me for my net just cant do wvw.

so Areanet if your reading this please make it a item u can get at any level i dont believe im the only one wvw is great for players that enjoy that but forcing people to do it just makes it annoying and will if any thing probably stop players form playing that are more pve.

Can’t you still get badges of honor through acheivement chests? You can also farm badges by doing the jumping puzzles each day, the borderlands ones are easy and deserted usually while the Obsidian Sanctum one could be free of GvGs depending on your server.

WvW’ers need to do dungeons (or sPvP) and map completion for their legendaries, so that’s only fair.

Besides, if you were playing since the game came out, you should have received a lot of badges via achievement chests already.

Also you can buy WvW levels for laurels and a few badgers of honor, so you don’t even really need to play that much WvW.

Gift Of Battle – Requires Battle to obtain, obvious much?

14 ranks is not much, first 4-5 ranks are just 1000 wxp each and if you wanna get them fast, go EOTM.

I dont think Anet should adjust the way to get the gift of battle just because your computer or internet connection has performance issues.

On the other hand, I enjoy WvW but I despise dungeons and would never willingly choose to spend my time running them. Should A-net eliminate that aspect as well?

Edge of the Mists will get you any badges and levels needed incredibly quick. Gift of battle is the easiest thing to obtain (IMO) on your journey to get a legendary.

Just hop in EoTM and follow your commander/zerg for a little while.

As others posted, go to Edge of the Mists. It’s not real WvW. It’s just like PvE with trains and everything. You will have your levels in no time. You get badges of honor with achievement point chests for every 500 APs.

However, if you’re making a legendary, you need 100% map completion, meaning you will still need to complete all the WvW borderland maps plus Eternal Battlegrounds. No way around that. So, just start early and get what you can if you haven’t done it already.

Good luck!

The only thing that bugs me about WvW are the colors. My server hasn’t had green in like 6 weeks or something of the like. This something that should be fixed, though the only scenario I see for that is the same 3 servers play each other for 3 weeks and you rotate colors once a week so you get to be all 3 colors in that time allowing for map completion. This, though, I doubt would be implemented since a lot of ppl complained about having to play the same servers over and over again.

I think the reasoning behind the Gift of Battle was to expose players to wvw. It is not your cup of tea just like PvE is not for some hard-core wvw-ers; while wvw-ers are forced into many, many hours of PvE (dungeon tokens and map completion) if they want their legendary weapon, you aren’t forced into THAT much wvw.

Unless things have changed a lot, you should have received 500+ badges from your achievement chests, and map completion (which includes wvw maps) should have gotten you to level 14 or very close to it. And if you popped one of those wvw xp boosters while that you get from the achievement chests while you mapped wvw, you def should have hit 14 by the time you were finished mapping.

I didn’t do any wvw for my first legendary other than the mandatory wvw mapping and found the Gift of Battle something that just happened, as opposed to the other Gifts that required a lot of effort and farming.

And if you are still in need of wvw levels, like others who have mentioned it above , EOTM is the best place to get those levels. It’s also a great place for the ~1mil karma that you are going to need for obsidian shards.

And if this work gives you the hives, you can always farm gold and buy your legendary.

TBH I didn’t like WvW but when I was forced there on my way to Legendary I loved it and never went back to full PvE. Besides in EotM (VERY PvE map) you get badges 10x faster than in normal WvW. Even BL/EB map completion is not hard, just takes some time which compared to the time required to grind all T6/Ectos/Clovers/gold/Precursor is nothing really. I did it all on my squishy, PvE geared thief in under 10 weeks (tho Precursor prices at that time were under 300g).

Hi there OP, I am not sure I understand your issue because I have a hard time understanding your post. So if I understand it, you’d like to get Gift of Battle but you dont like to do WvW right? Some of us have to do stuff we don’t like, just to get stuff we like, it works both in the real world and in-game, and that’s just how things work.

But, in case you don’t know, you can get Badge even not doing WvW
a) Achievement Points
b) Laurels (you buy WvW exp, you get WvW chest, which contains badges)

For more info, you may refer to this:

Good luck and have fun, I hope you get your Legendary soon!

This in an unreasonable response to a reasonable complaint.
