Gift of Battle obtainable in PvP pls?
People have done the gift reward track in a few hours and even worst case scenario it’ll take maybe a week of barely playing WvW. Is that really so hard? How fast did you do world exploration to get the gift? An hour? Two? It got to be far less work than WvW to make WvW feel like an insurmountable obstacle, surely.
As a absolute worst case scenario, you can get the GoB entirely through WvW dailies, including
- Big Spender (badges of tribute can be purchased at many guild halls, so you don’t even have to enter wvw).
- Caravan Disruptor (kill one yak; can often be done in homeland north camp)
- Veteran Creature Slayer (kill one monster; can be done done near borderland spawn)
- Master of Monuments (wait briefly; can be done near garrison)
- Land Claimer (kill one NPC and wait briefly; can be done near garrison)
I’m not saying I won’t do it because it’s from WvW, I’m just saying that it would make sense if it can be available in PvP too, because, as I wrote, there are no required components from PvP (except if you are crafting precursor). Also it allows many people to play their favorite mode while working on legendary.
I’m not complaining at all, but still it would be a nice QoL improvement imo
Its available only from WvW reward tracks for a reason. If it was also available from PvP then I would insist on having the vendor brought back so that everyone who doesn’t like WvW can stay out of WvW in order to receive their GoB.
Suck it up, everyone has to do it.

OP say PvP, not PvE.
I would have no problem with it being an option in PvP, since the skins are usable there now I believe. And the precursors and new legendary weapons all require someone at least to have played PvP.
I do agree with it not being an option for PvE, but that’s not what the OP was asking.
I second this.
Even though it took me only a few hours to get mine in WvW. But that’s still a few hours of pure boredom. It would be so much better and so much more fun if I could get the gift through sPvP also.
Anet won’t add this because they are interested in forcing you to play a game mode you do not want to play.
Because “Play your way” and all that.

And which part of a Legendary forces me to play spvp?

Spelling geez. Obviously I meant to put in PvP there instead of PvE. I know what he was talking about and it doesn’t change my point. The change to the acquisition method was a deliberate move to force us to play WvW in order to obtain the GoB. If we can obtain it in PvP then it defeats the purpose and should therefor also be allowed from PvE.
I would support this. Why not have all reward tracks = in any game mode you play. PvE of course is different because it has a wonderful world to explore, stories, and money trees everywhere. But for the sake of consistency, I think reward tracks should be the same available in either mode. This way if you PvP more than WvW … you can do whatever track you are farming. Same goes when triumphant hero’s and mistforged comes out… obtainable in both.
This also provides the PvE player base both options to attain it in. Most likely don’t like PvP, but some may like PvP more than WvW, and they should have access to it.

The reason that PvP and WvW got reward tracks is because doing events in PvE yields far more loot than PvP or WvW does. They were introduced as a way to balance out the loot you get, as well as offer up a very limited selection of skins that are otherwise only obtainable through PvE (auric weapon, chak weapon, bladed gloves etc… can be obtained through a reward track once. Dungeon armors can be obtained at quite a decent pace through PvP though). PvE already has more loot and doesn’t limit you in the number of equips you can get. You can craft as many auric weapons as you want, buy as many chak weapons as you want in PvE as opposed to the 1 you can get from reward tracks. The rewards are already better, so I doubt ANet will ever implement reward tracks in PvE because of this
