Hey Everyone,
I must have totaly missed something, but I still did not figure what it is, so unfortunately I have to put my question here for everyone to see.

Last few years, price of Gift of Souls was cca 30 all the way up to 120 gold, never changed, always only according to the Halloween events, the time of the Mad King.
Its price always followed the same graph -> All year 60-120 gold > Halloween 60-30 gold. After Halloween it took cca 4 months for price to go back to 60+.

Now, it’s price is 5-9 gold and dropping.
I am asking a simple question, Why?

Thanks in advance for explanation.

It’s really simple. The Gift of Souls is only used in “The Crossing”. That item is a regular exotic weapon and it’s unique skin is the only reason to obtain it. With the changes to the transmutation system, there is only a need to get one per account. The market is saturated from this change and there are better options to invest in.

I don’t know if I would call a supply of 270-ish saturated but I get your point. Once you have it you wont need another. Look at what happened to the price of Wintersday booze once most of the people chasing Winter’s Presence unlocked the skin.

The market only shows what is available for sale. It doesn’t necessarily reflect saturation among the users’ account data.

Well, if thats true, it effectively rendered that long-term investement of mine 1200 gold short.
Thank you for your answer though now I realize I would rather not know it.

How many people do you think want this skin? Once those who really want it got theirs and once it started dropping ‘regularly’ from ToTs, the supply saturated the demand.

As a simpler example, even 3 units of something is a saturated market if there’s only one buyer who already has the item.
