Girlfriend problems [Spoiler]
I think that marjory and khasmeen (spelling?) are cliche and do not mesh with the new story. Marjory’s voice is terribly fake sounding.( her sister doesn’t even have the same accent.) The other characters don’t exactly have riveting story either. I feel that we didn’t need another lesbian arch and that they did it simply because of how media was at that point in time. It might have won them a pat on the back from the sjw and feminist communities but the story should have been more important. Faolin and Caithe were more intriguing than the typical latter. I’m sure i will draw fire from the people who think otherwise but it is what it is.
i believe the writers should treat the story a little more like what it is a story inside a fantasy mmo and less than your everyday drama tv series.
I think the handling of Deus Ex plot detective was handled poorly all around.
But hey, that’s what happens when you introduce a Demi-God into the story.
In before the Meade Family lineage is descended from Kormir the god of Truths.
For any GW dev narrative writers, please don’t pull the above without some serious background into all of that being either seen (long cinematic) or played through.
Yeah I agree with TexZero.
It’s quite badly implemented. Which is even more jarring because everything not about the god is extremely well-done this episode. And everything about him is terribly done. Really weird. As if it was some last-minute change to the storyline.
I think Marjory and Kas work fine as couple, and regardless of whether or not I think they have annoying personalities (what with all the bickering) they have valid, humane personalities nonetheless. Their current tie to the human gods arc that is apparently a thing now however, is not so cool. Anet is trying for the second time now, after the dragons turned out to be underwhelming, to establish a bigger-than-us cosmic horror thing in the story. Which is great but very hard to do specially with a MMO, so I hope they don’t make the gods look goofy of all things.
I don’t know why people don’t like jory and kas, personally I think they are a breath of fresh air. I loved them throughout living world. I actually care about them which is kinda rare for me, who wouldn’t be upset if their lover just left without a goodbye for who knows how long? The gods thing… I think it’s good that we are moving away from the dragons personally. It opens up so many story possibilities.

Same.
In fact I’d much rather have episode 6 be about caring for our friends (and nothing else), getting Braham back, talking to Rox, trying to get Jory and Kas back at the same table, removing Taimi as the principal plot device, that stuff, rather than it being about the mess they have now.
Ok, I thought you (Op) are going to tell that something is wrong with your relatationship with your girlfriend. xD

I like that writers are making the story like real life. I don’t have HoT yet, but I watch my cousin stream the story. Having the two girls fight a strong enemy, but still bicker over communication between them mirrors my best friend IRL. My friend and her girlfriend argue over little things like what they need at the market, and do it while stopping the car in the middle of an intersection blocking cars while they shout. I guess it is typical female priorities when they’re together. Cashmere and Marjory is a great addition to GW2!
I think you are ascribing behaviour to gender that isn’t actually there — but that’s mostly beside the point.
I like that the couple do have that sort of concern for each other, and also a willingness to talk about problems.
I also like that Braham is acting like a traumatized 16 year old boy, responding badly to feelings of responsibility.
Pretty much all the characters actually behave like real people, which is great.
If those two were to disappear from the face of Tyria tomorrow I wouldn’t give them a second thought. I don’t know why Destiny’s Edge was ditched for this new cast of annoying npcs.
My hope is if they could ditch Destiny’s Edge maybe they will ditch this group in favor of yet another cast of npcs for the next expansion. I am not holding my breath on that though.
I know, right? New expansion, time for a new crew. I can’t stand this lot. The originals were way better and Kas and Marjory are so cringe-worthy.
Aren’t we due for a new team now?
