Can we please have one developer devoted to each class? If not, at least do a better job of hiding your bias.

And yet the rangers would be quick to tell you that they feel extremely neglected as a class; and necros (undoubtedly the most neglected), are also the class two arenanet employees were recently screenshotted playing as in sPvP.

Whichever class is flavour of the month is the one people will accuse of being arenanet’s pet. You need take get rid of the tinfoil hat, the dev team is big enough that there is no “bias” towards a singular class

Should Anet play the game? Yes, I even encourage it. But outright coming to the forum and saying I represent a certain class is out of line.

Rob is the hero we deserve but not te one we need (not actually on the balance/update team and can’t have any direct influence but still greatly appreciated none the less.)

As you see i have both a necro and a ranger . Ranger pets like necro are not all that great but the necro can get around it with wells and things like that as where rangers are defined by their pets.

But i do agree with you each class should have someone to step up to the plate for them

The reason Robert Hrouda is in the Rangers forums is that he plays a ranger. He is over dungeons, but since he plays a ranger he thought he would use the ranger forums to get more ideas from the players to take to the meeting. He doesn’t represent rangers, he just has an interest in them since he plays it and thought he could help get some more ideas on the table about ranger pets in dungeons. If you read all his post there you would see that.

I would be happy if they just stopped nerfing classes because other classes suck. If Necro’s are weak, don’t nerf Guardians to compensate, re-evaluate the weaker class and lift them up instead of lowering everyone else.

I personally would love to see 1 dev for each class. Someone that knows the class and understands it’s strengths and weaknesses. It would be nice if people that played Engineers, Necros and Rangers felt like someone was speaking up for them behind closed doors.

you seem to not see the context that was in. Essentially Robert is a dungeon dev, people in dungeon forums were remarking on how dungeon design basically kills pets, which is ranger’s whole mechanic. he then went to respond in the proper forum talking about rangers/pets/dungeons so as not to derail dungeon threads.

Also im sorry but getting the input of someone who actually plays the class is probably only a good thing for the balance team, theres a difference between a guy who plays a class regularly as his main, and a guy who has to play every class probably only for an hour or so at a time.

the other factor is Hrouda said that there are many people like him, whom have more experience with a particular class, who chime in at balance meetings, however most of them dont post on the forums.

ranger is a really bad class for you to decide is getting too much attention, seeing as how it has very few actual changes of import since launch. and yes necro has gotten some pretty meaty patches the last few.

My biggest problem is the lack of normalization between the classes and that’s just uncalled for.

They should review every class and write down the traits and skills each has and compare them. Why would a tier1 trait be so good for another class to warrant being a 25 pt trait? Why would the same skill work the same for 3 classes, but different for one other? Why would every movement skill in the game work one way, but Warrior movement skills work another?

I realize each class is supposed to be different, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have something in common every once inawhile.

Normalize the traits and skills across the classes and see how things are. Then they can start improving them one class at a time or whatever method they so desire.
