Give us reason to Jump again!
You mean like the SAB update on Tuesday O_O?
Tyr Sylvison – Warrior
Illyiah – Revenant
Grid your spacebar loins for 3rd of Sept!
They need to add at least 50 more permanant Jumping Puzzles around the world; each with an achievement for completing it.
exciting and innovative
…aren’t 2 words i’d use to describe jumping whereas ‘poorly’ & ‘executed’ seem to better fit the bill.

I’m particularly disturbed by this statement.
this is an unexpected thread…

If jumping puzzles was the most popular thing in the game I’m sure that’s what they would do.
not the most popular but much better than some dungeons and i think many player loved to jump them because they showed really good designed places in the world. and thats what they should work on again! these living story updates are pretty but have no permanent effects on the world….and really want to see more of these eastereggs, jumpingpuzzles, dungeons etc
The aetherblade jumping puzzle was utter crud what with the platforms that randomly failed to work and the need to do everything over again when they randomly fail to work.
I do like Spekk’s Lab though. A lot.
And Griffonrook Run as well, though it’d be nice if the Griffons didn’t occasionally cheat by attacking from their nest without any animation whatsoever. That kind of nonsense turns a challenging run with a high skill req to a challenging run with a high skill ‘and some luck’ req, and succeeding only about 1/5 times because of that random insta-attack animation is just a little frustrating at times.
Go find the Arah jumping puzzle(s). Once you’ve found that one, you’ll never look at Arah the same way again.
Still my favorite one.

Pfft, the last thing this game needs is more jumping puzzles.

Your opinion is wrong.

(edited by Flubble.8093)

And please fix mesmer portals, character parking and other cheats.

It is an opinion it cannot be wrong no matter how much you don’t like it.
I’ve done about half of the puzzles in the game. They have nothing to do with the lore or story going on in the game. Their rewards from the chests are nothing. The only other thing you get is a few achievement points for completing them exactly once.
They are not the slightest bit interesting to repeat unless that happens to be one of the daily or monthly achievements, and even then I can often convince myself to ignore it.
Broken camera angles, walking on the edge of a pin, jumping into nothing where you can’t see your target, and falling to your death. Yeah, that’s fun? Get real.

That was the whole joke of my post. Thank you for explaining it to everybody.
Oh while we are at it, support my idea of “hardmode” jumping puzzles, aka time attack mode:

The puzzles do tie into the game lore. It’s just that each one has it’s own explanation instead of one universal explanation for all the puzzles, or something which identifies them as puzzles.
For example many are asura labs whose owners are either experimenting with physics, looking for an unusual degree of privacy or both. The ones in Harathi Hinterlands and Genderran Fields are pirate hide-aways. Morgans Spiral/Dark Reverie is a hidden nightmare court stronghold. In many cases (especially the asura labs) you can encounter the ‘owner’ at some point during the puzzle and they’ll say something about you intruding and/or stealing their treasures.
I’m pretty sure Anet have said the loot from jumping puzzles isn’t supposed to be amazing. They’re supposed to be something people do for fun or for the achievements and the loot is just a bonus, not something you’d want to farm.
As for whether they’re any fun to repeat that’s a matter of opinion. I usually re-do them any time I’m nearby and not in the middle of something because I do enjoy them. I really like going back to a puzzle I struggled with the first time and doing it easily.

Witty repartee aside. I think they said that they are going to but T7 mats into some of the jumping puzzle chests.
Actually………. I HATE jumping puzzles, hate them.

Yes, and that’s even more annoying. How about t7 mats for defending a keep or tower?
Jumping puzzles <3 Everyone loves and hates them. They are just awesome.
Btw: Try some Non-Official JP. For example to climb the Giant Tree next to Sootberme(Mount Maelstrom). Found two different paths up there. Was great fun!(and some challenging to get up there)
No more jumping puzzles. They suck. Bring out more challenging boss encounters like Liadri though!
