That armour is only available via PvP. There is no other way to get it. It was introduced just last month as a PvP exclusive reward, along with the rest of its armour set, so if you’d like it for its non-trenchcoat look, yes, you’re going to have to go and ‘grind PvP’.

On the plus side, you’ll also gain a ton of Achievement Points if you’ve never touched PvP before! Maybe even some new titles.

Firstly, I’ll start of with pasting this link: http://argos-soft.net/GW2/ArmorGallery

It’s a very useful resource when trying to find the look you want. It gets updated fairly often. It gives the chat codes for almost all armour skins.

Some trench-coats have the skirt part attached to the pants part of the armour (I think), so it might be worth mixing and matching, even if it looks like it might be a long coat.

As for getting the specific armour piece, if you use a rank farm method of playing PvP it would take about 2 hours of PvP for 4 days to get that armour (along with lots of other loot).

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Reward_track#Match_Rewards

40k rank points to complete a track, total rank points earned for each match depend on what mode and if you win or lose.

There are a bunches of rewards along the way also. Make sure to open the chests on a character with as much magic find buffs as you can put on it since MF does affect PvP reward chests. I keep one character to open the PvP chests, save all the chests and open them at once.

Open up the PvP server broswer and there will custom arenas labelled PvP Rank Farm. Two maps are currently most popular for rank farm: Battle of Khylo (which from my experience is the most effective and very lazy) or Skyhammer (which requires much more attention, less rank points but you’ll also get PvP kills too).

Join one of these, read the server description to get a sense of the rules and ask how the farm works in the PvP map chat. Someone will take the time to respond to you and answer all your questions. I’d explain it here, but it makes a lot more sense when you’re actually in the rank farm.

EDIT: Oh, and make sure that you’re getting progression on the right PvP reward track (you’ll be going for the Glorious track). You can manage which tracks you’re progressing with by clicking the crossed-swords (PvP) icon in the top left, and then click the chest icon on the side-bar.

Ty, ill try that!

Or you know, play PvP. Its a bit daunting at first but once you learn the maps it is good fun.

Im not a PvE only user, this isnt the case.
Ive played a lot of PvP on SWTOR, a lot (many times i just log for PvP). But something on GW2 PvP its strange for me. not sure what exacly.
The GW2 gameplay feels so fantastic compared to WoW and SWTOR (tradional MMORPG gameplay), that drive me out of those games. But on PVP… dunno whats the reason. I just feel too imbalanced, maybe this is not the term… I dont know exacly what is. its just that i didnt like it.

obs: ive seen that i can create my own map! for just 200g for a full month. Do i need another players to farm it or can i create my own map and play alone?

@Carlos

You can’t farm PvP alone, but creating your own server would be beneficial to you if you’re willing to pay the cost. You can reserve a slot for yourself meaning that you’ll be able to access rank farm any time (sometimes the best servers are full so it’d good to have a reserved spot to use).

However, for your rank farm to be popular, be ready to maintain it by keeping an eye on trolls and kicking/blocking anybody who abuses your rank farm server rules. The rank farm that I use most often is fantastic and almost always the play is rewarding and relaxing (I often get to connect with the other farmers with friendly conversation and answering peoples’ questions). If your farm is rife will trolls, people will steer clear of it. I’d recommend being fun but firm and maintain a zero-tolerance policy (there will always be people wanting to farm, so don’t be worried about kicking some people who are being counter-productive- they’ll be replaced by rule-followers).

By playing the rank farm daily until your max out your daily rank point limit, you’d recover a bit of the cost of starting and maintaining an arena. You can play about 10-12 matches a day and get 15s each match (because you are basically guaranteed a win), and that’s not considering any materials or rewards you get from getting PvP rewards from the reward tracks.

Some PvP farm owners also accept donations to maintain the custom arena, and this certainly works. I’m very willing to support my favourite arena and I’m sure others do too.

I would recommend playing a fair bit of rank farm before making your own arena as it’s important to understand the mechanics and the common rules set in place by other arenas.

Thanks for tip Guys!

So, im doing my PvP Grind.

So far ive found just one map labeled “farm”, and it is aways empty. Ive found a guild farm map, bu got kicked soon ive entered it :P

Then im doing normal PvP matches trying to get my armor. Ive gained the “Gladiator” title, coming to “Mercenary” and maybe im going to “Champion Slayer” title before get the armor, with are very cool things.

But playing the PvP has been Painfull!

Im sorry to say that. Im loving GW2, its the only game that im playing, please dont be ofended, but the PvP…
I wil talk my opinion about it, it has gained a bit of maturation.

As ive stated before ive played a lot of PvP on other games, like SWTOR and many FPS. I like PvP, but i think ive got what im not liking here.

The matches are about 5×5 in arenas, and capturing and holding points are the most important for the win. I think a big problem here starts at team size and logs/logouts.

A team of 5 (or even less on custom arenas) its too small for uncoordinate gameplay (most of the battles are with “pugs” or equivalent), so its ease to get overwhelmed by 2, 3 or even 4 members of the other team that jus wipe you out. When you have big teams, like 8×8 or 10×10 its easer to compensate this or that weak player, and keep the fight on, but on small teams a weak player makes ppl angry (oh, and ive seen a lot of toxic chat, but this is part of PvP and Hard Dungeons gameplay…) and some even rage quit.

Another big problem are the team lougouts and leaves. Since many players sign in for Rated Arenas, soon the arena its on they leave the Custom one that he is participating and this keeps the team balance a big mess.

And there is one of the biggest problems that im seeing. Please old players correct me if im wrong, but are the “ÜBER BUILDS”.
PvP balance its a hard thing, i know. And as a PvE gamer i get very irritaded by many balance changes for PvP that ends up messing our PvE builds. But im seeing a lot of cookie cutter builds on PvP. Like Rangers really really powerfuls, and some players staking over 19 stacs of might (warriors, mostly, and guardians a little too). I know many players criticize it, and most of the complaints are “Learn to Play” issues, with i inclued myself here, since in 2 days of PvP i have no pretention of ask for changes or say that im losing here or there because of the game bad design. But still sometimes i really think how this or that player its too strong, and most of the time i see myself running FROM enemy players, instead of running TO fight them. And this is sad.

I think the problem with these power builds its a colateral effect of the diversity of the game. One of the points that i love on this game its the diversity. You can see enginners using flamethrowers or shields and pistols, or Warriors using Glass cannons rifles or Big regeneration builds with swords. On other games, like swtor, there are much much fewer options to play, and this is a big draw back when you search for cool and fun builds, but gets easer for DEVs team balance the game.

well, i didint give up. im pretty sure that ill get my torso armor soon. I just hope that i dont get tired and Burned Out before that.

Just posting to update,
ive reached 100% on tier and got my armor. Its an very good art on it, and its no a trench coat. worth all the efort.

Thanks to all that give me tips, i would suggest the same method, but usualy the FARM maps are empty. so what its really fast is use the “play now” to fast enter on a match and soon the match ends use again the “play now” function to enter on another. And always keep on ranked maps, since after some points the unraked map stops giving you points, so you will need the points from ranked.

thanks all
