Hi! Some guildies and I where talking today about PvP and how hard it is to come from PvP into PvE without any gold or anything and you have been playing only PvP seens you started so we came up with this idea to change your glory into Silver and gold but you shoulden’t be able to go in to PvP at lvl 1 and start farming glory it should be when you are 40+ in PvP. The idea is almost like how it was when we had paid tournaments and we could get gems fro victory!
So I wonder what do you guys think about this idea?
Any improvements on my idea?
(Sry for my bad grammer it isen’t the best)

I know anet was trying (at least in the beginning) to keep pvp and pve currencies separate. As long as no ‘pay 2 win’ possibilities come into play, I don’t see an issue with it personally.

As for glory farming… don’t see how it would be any different than speed clearing. People do what they are good at as their means of obtaining gold.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

PVP is designed to be completely separate entity from the rest of the game. You can;t just bring your gold from PVE into PVP and buy skins. I’m a little surprised you even get the same laurel by doing the PVP daily.

Can’t you forge unidentified dye with PvP salvage materials and then sell those?

Yes, forge dyes and sell the results. Also convert laurels to t6 mats and sell the result.

I think the OP’s point is that it is hard for someone who’s dedicated to sPvP, tPvP to gain gold. He seems to think the transition between PvE and sPvP, tPvP is “harder” because you don’t have gold ie: when you think about the time you invested by getting at high lvl of sPvP you don’t want to invest all this time to let say get a full exotic set even if that isn’t really hard. To not let someone who never plays PvE has same advantage as someone who plays PvE, is why the OP proposed to start getting gold at lvl40 and higher. But on the other hand a PvE player has the same problem if he want to start doing sPvP and looks nice (armor, weapon); because look is suppose to be the goal of this game am i right?

Maybe it’s off topic but i think the main issue with sPvP and gold is when i readed his post i was thinking about the custom arena; for me gold is not a problem since i play mainly PvE so i can afford a custom arena without problem but for a sPvP player he will have to pay with real money to get it. It’s weird that someone who don’t play sPvP have easier acces to a sPvP feature.

spvp players do not have to spend any real money to finance a custom server.

The dye and laural conversions provide more than enough gold per month for ONE individual to pay for a server. If you have 5 people financing the server you can do it on the backs of dye only.

If glory could be converted into gold it would generate a significant amount of gold in the economy and relatively no tradeable goods. The inflation would suck…
