Glowing Items in Inventory
That actually sounds pretty handy for determining what new items you’ve gotten recently. But it shouldn’t be so strong as to block what item it actually is visually.
When I open my Inventory since the patch I have found that any new items added to it since I last opened it are glowing so that I cannot see them properly – this also happens with materials gained from salvaging items.
I have to close the inventory and reopen it again to see the content clearly.
Is this intended? Because if it is it is really annoying.
There is an option to turn it off, same place where you show/hide bags.
Agree, they need to reduce the glow a bit. It is better than blinking the new items.
RIP City of Heroes
Disable it if you don’t want it, leave it as-is for those of us who keep it enabled.
I would use it if it were not so brightly highlighted as to completely obscure what the item actually is.
Tone down the brightness or lessen how much of the icon is covered by the highlight and it would be useful to me.

I don’t have any issue with new items being highlighted, but the highlighting is a bit over bright and could do with toning down a little.
Can you give us an option to not see those overly red items once I want to salvage something. After 2 years of GW2 I think I know what to salvage and what not, without being confused by disturbing red flashlights all over my inventory. =(
Give an option to turn it off, please!

There is an option to turn it off. I for one am very pleased with this feature.

They’re not talking about the New Item Highlighting, they’re discussing something unrelated to the topic of this thread – the update to the salvaging highlighting going from highlighting salvageable items in blue to now highlighting non-salvageable items in red.
Sharu should stay on-topic and/or make their own thread to discuss what they want to discuss.

I mistook it and thought those were related. Sorry
I like both of the new features, but I agree that they could be a bit less ‘in-your-face’.
And speaking of new features, I really like the flashing window/icon that lets you know when you have loaded a new zone if you have the game minimized. I know, I know…off-topic. Not sure it deserves a whole thread, though. Lol.

I noticed that too. I presumed it always did that and I just hadn’t noticed over the last 2 years……..
Nope, its new! =)
+1 to needing an adjustment on the glow, they went stupid bonkers on the intensity. VERY pleased that the option is there to turn it off. A potentially useful addition made useless by stupidity.
Come on ANet, tone it down 90% so we can use it.
That seems rather harsh. Stupidity? Geez.
I didn’t really find it that off-putting until others posted about it. But, as I said, I agree it could be a tad less intrusive.
First time I noticed it i was like ’ oh that’s a handy new feature!’ How can ppl complain about it ._.
The new glowing loot hurts my eyes. Could you please make an option to disable it? Thanks.

3rd post.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
It’s giving me seizures. Thank Abaddon you can turn it off.
You know when you’re running a dungeon and you get a full inventory, or when you’re running the lab and you get a full inventory?
That red highlight is handy as hell!
