Lets say I were to do this everyday;

AC p1 & p3, HoTW p1, CoF p1, CoE p1 & p3, SE p1 p2 p3. Buy 180 armor with said tokens, salvage for ectos, sell every mat I come across. With a non-speed run party but normal pug that has done the dungeon before.

vs

Same time it took to do those dungeons but champion faming in Frostgorge.

Which one would give the highest gold?

With a non-speed run party, it could take a while. Champ farming is stress free and your gold income is more consistent. There are some benchmarks that I usually like to pass to know I’m being efficient. Like, CoE all paths for 1hr, etc…

ok, please lets not turn this into a zerker vs non-zerker dungeon thread. I mean the standard PuG which for the most part have zerkers or DPS oriented tanky peeps.

Not to mention you can afk, log out, whatever. It’s a more leisurely than being stuck in a group for dungeons.

To the OP I am not sure why you are nailing down your content to one or the other. For instance you could be running a champ farm while waiting to get a dungeon group. Some days you may not have the time for a dungeon group but can hop in for a quick round of champs.

Hey dude you are walking into a wall.

I personally find it quite sad that you can even compare the two. Running around in a giant kittening zerg makes you equal if not more then running dungeons.

It just makes no sense. Smh anet……..

OP you can also add to your dungeon income with tokens, but not with salvaging rares for ectos. If you purchase the exotic weapons (offhands, as they are cheapest) that have stat combinations that can’t be crafted – soldier from AC, etc. – you have a chance of getting an exotic inscription back, usually for about half of the salvages. These inscriptions can sell between 4-5 gold, and you get globs of dark matter as well that are used in ascended crafting. I found that even with the randomness I was getting better money out of inscriptions than ectos.

You might as well just Champ Farm SE P1. Optimize to kill golem trio in <5 mins, and bam, you’re getting 1 box per minute without incurring stupid WP fees ololololool

Equal in terms of gold, but not equal.

You’re still getting tokens for exclusive armor/items, even if some people don’t care for them.

I tryed to SE farm but nobody is doing it , which is sad because i’d rather
do a dungeon over and over than doing the boring zerg fest in frostgorge.

Meh the farm and meta hasn’t been publicly established yet, which is on the player, like CoF1 running.

Party comp is pretty basic; full zerker, an FGS Ele, perhaps a Mes if you really want TW, and fill the rest with Wars since it’s probably a pug. A guard with Hallowed Ground would be pretty good as well; now featuring boon duration for 26s blast finisher Might stacks (x3) and stability versus Golems.

Probably champ farming get you more gold.

It is probably better to salvage exotic weapon which have stats that can’t be crafted, so you have a chance to get the inscription.

I can usually get same amount of gold as champ farm if I do pug dungeon runs and specify the group to be speedrun. But the problem is there are usually downtime when waiting for group to be formed or waiting for people to get to the dungeon.

…But repetitive SE P1 runs for the purpose of killing champs IS champ farming, without WP cost. It’s 5 champs in 5 minutes easily if you min/max.

How much downtime between CoF P1 farms prenerf? Well the amount of time exiting and going back in. 10 seconds. People just need to start doing it and make it a popular alternative.

Dungeon is better if you don’t meet any cleric Staff guard or bearbow ranger and btw you should include arah p2 in your daily runs its 3g and cant take
More than 35min even with gearless people .

It’s also got the most hilarious ‘shortcut’ in the game.

The fact that this is even comparable is kind of sad. Dungeons should definitely give you more rewards instead of zerging some champs that don’t do anything.

If you raise your MF over 200%, farming is definitly better source of money. Not to mention, you don’t have any risk of random dc, bad pug or anything. T6 mats drop very often from champion loots, each can be like 20-30 silver on quick sell, you get crafting mats from salvaging all crap…
