So, chat in LA is filled with those “SELLING CHEAP GOLD WWW.whatever.COM” and i also keep receiving spam in my mail. I hope you, guys, gonna do something about it, like word filters, account bans?

Yes spam is terrible at the moment. Every time I log in I have to report 3 mails an 3 chats.

I guess all these people complaining about gold spam are new to MMO games. They are inevitable, can never be completely defeated, and aren’t going anywhere. Report and move on, or better yet don’t sit in LA and stare at chat I mean really…

Maybe they can add a filter that collapses things with a link in them so you have to click to expand it or auto block text that sets off at precise intervals or block repeated text by the same person in X timeframe.

In allod online they manage to keep the gold seller out after they hit for 2 weeks after that they are gone LoL not even one gold seller left…

well they do still sell gold but not spamming the hell out on the chat LoL

Not just in LA. I’ve seen a lot of the spam in zones not that populated.
And I’m not personally new to MMO’s, and yet I complain about it.

I think everyone understands it cannot be completely dealt with, but what people also understand is that it’s an issue of right now. The amount of spam in mail and chat, it’s an issue that needs to be dealt with. To stop complaining about it and just ignore it would be disastrous.
The whole point is that we keep bringing it up to let ANet know that it’s something that is annoying to many of us players, so that they can do something about it, and I’m sure they are in the process.

Yeah this is annoying. In the main city’s, all you see in map chat is gold selling sites being advertised. Hope Arenanet do something about it.

And since there are no addons you can’t do anything about it by yourself. In WHO i used chat filter and it helped really. But since arena doesn’t care an\bout in game situations…

I too, would love to see this address. I hope the punishments handed out to these accounts are appropriate.

The best thing to do right now to is simply report it when you see it (by right-clicking on the name and selecting “Report”) and then block that user (the same way) so you never see the same spammer twice.

I’m sure we’ll start to see less of this once Anet has taken care of the more important problems.

ANet hasn’t spoken up clearly regarding this subject of late. Maybe if they did that, it would reassure many people that they are on top of things. (Assuming of course, that they are)

And yeah, best thing to do when seeing it ingame is to report and block.
I forgot about the block function before, works pretty good regarding goldsellers, though new ones pop up just a bit later.
