Gold laundering or TP glitch?

Eh people who play the girls arent always fond of the skirts probly. Maybe they want the leggings.
OK, that is curious. Also, I want to know which jester put them up for almost 1 gold a piece.
Anyways, couldn’t you just buy leather? It’s pretty much one click more, and a few seconds of waiting. I’d say that beats paying 1 silver a piece for low-level crafting material.
It’s called market manipulation, one way to make money off the TP. Someone with a lot of gold just purchases all the items available for a certain item type and they can set the price to whatever they want since they now have a monopoly over that item. Not very hard to do, but it won’t always work as most people are smart enough to know a ripoff price when they see it and will decide that it is cheaper to go gather the materials and craft the items themselves. This also leads to people selling their crafted items at an undercut price to the monopolist meaning the monopolist has to keep buying up everything to sell at his desired price point.
Dont get me wrong, im no stranger to playing the TP and from what I can gather he will never make money from this because there are other ways to progress in that profession. He has only monopolised one out of the two leggings pieces and no other mats that I can see as well as the fact you can just make the part using leather! You can craft your way around his monopoly!
As for my situation I crafted myself past just before he made the purchases so it doesnt affect me in the slightest. Just found it strange.

That’s what makes me think gold laundering. People won’t fall for it, they will just craft the leg pieces. Making it a good money laundering scheme because others won’t be caught up in it.
Not that other people being caught in it matters to the people laundering it, as it just means more gold making its way to the seller.
I think he was just hoping to manipulate the market and failed. His are still up there and others undercutting him down to 3s.

Well of course he failed there ae many other ways to acquire the item.
the best way to jack up the price is by setting a net. By buying up item at certain price and setting a net(buy order) of a little below 15% differents of desire selling price.

Funny choice of words..
I don’t think this is manipulation. It is the stupidest attempt at manipulation if it is, as no one will pay that much.
I have seen it twice in the game where almost all of the offers for an item vanish, and the price spikes temporarily, and then they all return later. It was great for me because items I had for sale that were covered in undercutters got sold for muuuch more than the current price. And then I checked it a little while later and the old price was now the lowest with a ton of offers in between.
Yah I have noticed some really obvious fluctuations lately. I actually made a killing off a cooking recipe where I sold 780 consumables because the base materials cost less (on the TP) than what I could sell them for. Not really sure why, but I just stumbled upon it and figured I might as well cash in on it. Never expected to ever making coin off cooking.
