Pretty much the title. I was going through my inventory trying to see if I had enough ascended weapons to make a new character ready for fractals and saw the nice box with an ascended quality box. Then come to find out that it was the Golden Fractal Weapon Crate which only has exotic quality weapons inside. Shouldn’t the quality of the box be the same as the quality of it’s contents? I know the boxes themselves are supposed to be hard to get, and thus maybe they made the box ascended quality, but it doesn’t make sense with the weapons themselves are exotic. In my opinion, the golden fractals weapons should be made ascended to match the box’s rarity, or, much more likely for sure is that they should change the quality of the box to exotic.

Its the same with all the bags in the game, do you pull out exotic and rares out of every orange and yellow champion bag you pickup?

I think the loot rarity table the containers are on is not the same as the loot rarity table the contents may or may not be on.

The colors show the difficulty or circumstances of acquired the container, not what it may contain.

So, no, it should not be changed.

There is no bug in terms of the item within the chest. The ascended chest lets you choose a specific weapon, and the exotic chest gives you a random one.

However I disagree with Liken and Inculpatus; every other ascended chest in the game consistently gives an ascended item of some sort. Amongst ascended chests, this one is the odd one out.

To avoid confusion, Anet should just change it to an exotic chest and add some sort of fancy descriptor to distinguish it from the standard gold fractal weapon chest. “Bejewelled golden fractal weapon chest” or something.
