After they nerfed the champ train and the ori-farm, there is no way, except dungeon sc and worldboss farm , where you can earn a good amount of gold.
Do you guys have any idea, what to do beside dungeons to earn some cash ?

Play the Trading Post and farm materials. Beyond that, not much you can do.

Material farming is pretty much dead with the megaservers, or at least you need a partner or 2. account as anchor.
Then you also can try to solo/duo dungeon paths to sell them to other players.

Farming Cursed Shore events for heavy bags/rares has been a better option than champ trains for a long long time.

This is what ive done since day 1 of the patch mat farming is still annoying you get a new map every day but atleast you know where the nodes are after 1 run around with an anchor.

Well, like Anet always likes to remind us about……

Get more Gold!

Don’t forget that you can exchange gems and gold at our currency exchange on the second tab of the Black Lion Trading Company! Currently, you can get 1 gold for about 15 gems and 50 gold for about 700 gems!

Gems for Gold

Don’t forget that you can exchange gems and gold at our currency exchange on the second tab of the Black Lion Trading Company! Currently, you can get 10 gold for about 145 gems and 50 gold for about 720 gems!

Which explains why it always gets harder and harder to make gold every update, cause they would rather us buy gold than actually earn it in game.

The rate of gold per gem seems to have gone up some since launch, which indicates more people are selling gold than are selling gems. Therefore, somebody’s earning gold in game. In fact, since it takes more gold to get gems than it did some time ago, it’s likely that more gold is being sold than gems.

Farming Cursed Shore events for heavy bags/rares has been a better option than champ trains for a long long time.

This. Except the good ones have been nerfed with 4/15.

For example, not only is it nearly impossible to get people to not defend Arah for the trait now, mobs no longer spawn at the infamous Arah pre-event farm.

Not to mention how difficult it is to know when any of the temple events in CS are up.

You can still do some other events I suppose – Plinx, Tactician Megill pre, and Shelter/Pen and Jofast to some extent (until the champs come a knocking). Funny how things have come full circle, and the farms that died out are now the only ones you can do fairly reliably.

Tarnished Coast Engineer and… general alt-o-holic.

There are plenty of good places to farm t6 mats, rares, exotics still. I will agree though that the temple events are far worse now because nearly everytime I go to malchor or cs the temples are not contest thus no temple events. I know they can be done several times a day but I’m not going to sit and wait potentially 2 hours to be able to do an event.

I generally don’t farm that often and I don’t have the time to be on the game all the time but I still find the time to make on average around 100-150g per week casually so if you learn good spots to go to then it can be beneficial and also just play the game. Dwelling on farming or earning X amount of gold is not really the way to go in a game.

Don’t you get it? You are supposed to buy gems to convert to gold.

Question. What is so fun about grinding gold? Why are you grinding gold? To buy an item? And would it then not be more fun to work / fun for that item itself.

On EU Servers you can still try guesting to Servers with different languages. Helps me at least still a lot for Platinum and Lemongrass farming. Of course having 12 characters is also very helpful

I did my exploration in GW2 fora decent gold farm, takes me weeks to find one. So far, I have found that Ascalonian catacombs is a decent gold farm and leveler. Every run you get 1gold 55silver for finishing one path, as well as the base 26silver which gives 1gold 81silver per path. 1.81×3 paths=5.43 gold in around 45 minutes. I was recently at 14g 2 weeks ago did as many dungeons I could a day, now I have 245g. All you really need to do is a dungeon, 1 guaranteed gold per path daily.
Hope this helped :)

Isn’t moving and doing stuff around Tyria a way to make gold.

ANet will likely nerf all farming ways that involve repeating same pattern on 1 map anyway…

I’m a casual PvE adventurer, I enjoy combat, adventure and helping, but not farming.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

Even before the patch, Queensdale was absolutely inferior to Edge of the Mist farm in every possible way. Not only do you get mats, gold etc you also got wvw ranks which in turned results in various goodies including the chance at ascended gear boxes.

I honestly have no idea why people wasted their time in queensdale when they could just hop in edge.

Not that i ever did the Queensdale train, but personally i just refuse to enter any PvP area anymore after Aion. And i think there are a lot more people that just don’t want to get ganked anywhere no matter how good the farm may be.

Ganked in edge of the mists……..that’s a great joke right there.

It may as well be PVE in that map tbh.

Of course someone is earning gold, don’t forget of all of the people who use out of map exploits to sell dungeons, TP flippers, uber lucky people that get 3-4 precursors while others rot in hell in the wait of one, and if it will ever come it will be the most meaningless one (Speargun pre)…

Actually just after they implemented DR one of the devs got on Reddit and mentioned that they actually like Legit Farmers however their entire system since then seems to completely and silently say otherwise and yet, gold sellers are still here in the game.
