I thought you could only salvage lvl 68+ yellow rares for glob of ectoplasms? I just salvaged a lvl 78 green mace with a rune attached to it and i managed to get a glob of ectoplasm out of it. O.o
Oh by the way i used a Master’s Salvage Kit.

It’s true! I also came across this. And I also salvaged ori ore from that item. The problem is I was on a lvl 64 Guardian in a lvl 40 zone. So I think, it’s either a bug or there’s a remote chance to get them from low lvl items too. Btw I was using the Basic kit. I think this needs a testing. I’ll use a few stacks of Master kits to try it out

Maybe, they do like to update stuff and not post it in post. However I wont be wasting any cash in testing this till some proof.

I believe there is a very small chance for ectos from level 70+ greens, but the chance is extremely low not risk wasting BLTC kits on them.

yeah i’d use the mystic kits on those would love proof tho.

pretty sure combat log keeps track of any items you pickup including from using mystic toilet or salvaging stuff either way its too late now.

There is. in the Items tab. unless you logged out already >_> It will say “received Glob of ectoplasm” or something.

Just tested this myself as well, 12 greens lvl 76+ and no ectos.

The chance is probably abysmally low.

Just bought 100 greens off the trading post, used a master salvage kit on 40 of them and got no ectos so I threw the rest in the mystic forge, made 7 rares and salvaged them.

From the 7 rares I got 17 ectos with the master’s kit. Yeah, I am that lucky!

It’s possible, just less chance of course. Also feel like they nerfed BLKs nowadays so probably even rarer.

It’s the yellow kit available from merchants, and it costs something like 15s,26c.

I personally feel the BLK’s need a higher chance of rare mat salvage, as the masters is very close to the BLK as it is, and the BLK isn’t easy to get your hands on if you don’t want to contribute to Anet’s slush fund in the cash shop.

I’ve gotten ectos from using a master salvage kit on greens before. My impression is that it’s around a 1 in 500 chance or so though, so possibly not worth it.

Yes, I can confirm this too.
Salvaged uncountable numbers of 75+ greens with basic salvage kits thru out my play time.
Happened only once.
