Today, I log in the game do to some dragon event. Not to mention the lag… I literally afk dps the shatterer, and FPS is 5 at the time. (My usual fps is around 45 before patch) More importantly, I’m not sure is just me or…, the graphic quality went down so badly that made me log off. When I zoom out I see my character pixelated like I was playing on my game boy…. I even had culling and lagging issue in LA.
Same old Nvidia and same old medium setting with FXAA, I have no idea wat in the world had happen to the game. The only thing I know is that I updated the driver to 314.07 yesterday.

FXAA is rubbish, turn it off and you barely notice a difference.

Your elitism is showing.

I’m running the following:

Phenom II 965BE
Radeon HD 6750
8 GB DDR3
Two HDDs with a separate physical drive on swap.

I often get 70-80 fps in open areas, but in events mt fps can still drop to 23. These things happen, and people have reported losing 15+ fps in general with the current patch.

Sorry My hardware isn’t beast like yours, I’ll upgrade just for you. </s>

It’s not your hardware, there have been serious culling, graphical and lag issues since the new patch. Anyone who says get a new computer when it’s clearly affecting everyone needs to lose their elitist attitude.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

You could always post your specs and in-game settings. I’d love to know what rig is running such a stable framerate but still only hitting 65 or so on average.

FXAA is rubbish, turn it off and you barely notice a difference.

FXAA has no noticeable framerate hit unless you’re running a SMAA injector with extra effects.

That is completely untrue, unless you’re running the industry’s best hardware setup.

Within 5%. I generally only lose 1 fps to FXAA. It’s very lightweight compared to traditional MSAA. I posted my specs above, I’m running a very budget rig, cost me sub-$500.

I was poking around with various settings last night and was getting some really weird results, like worse performance with textures set to low than when set to medium.

There was a similar thread in the Bug Forums. ArenaNet mentioned they were currently looking into it:
