Q:
Graphic enhancing mods?
GW2 just wasn’t made with things like this in mind. As far as I know, Texmod works with GW2 and could be used to replace some textures, but it’s very flawed and doesn’t have a large active community for that reason.
GW2 devs could look at the Skyrim mods and their shaders. Many shaders are open source already. Creating quality and modern textures requires work. E.g., parallax. GW2 looks good if you ask me. Not like modded Skyrim, not like Crysis, but good.
Too much jungle would ruin the gameplay, say.
How about recreating some part of GW2 world with Skyrim’s Creation Kit, for comparison? Or with Crysis editor.
They don’t allow mods..I think when they would allow it,hackers would be more rampant aswell.
Btw have you tried running skyrim with all those mods ? Its pretty heavy on the system, and doing the same with gw2 would absolutely destroy your fps.
I can’t recall of an MMO that allows modding at this level. Only single players that have most of their files local allow u and even those are limited.
You also have to remember that GW2 is running on Dx9 engine, they could crank up the shaders but it would probably end up affecting your performance a lot.
That is probably the bigest downside this game will have going in the future. Dx9 engine.
