Graphics: Denser Grass, Trees and Bushes
I’d like to see denser foliage sometimes but I don’t think the GW2 engine could handle it. Maybe if ANET bought the unreal 4 engine.
No, I don’t think that is necessary. The fauna is fine this way. Unlike other games bushes and flowers are even responding to bullets and characters walking trough. The amount itself is not quite important.
HoT has A LOT more fauna, and I get framerate issues in that area (GTX970 in combination with an i7 3770) and love the smooth and open look of “Central Tyria”.
I’d like to have darker nights and more changes in the weather though. . .

if not already in use, try GemFX, with the help of this tool you can get darker nights, you just have to configure it.
There’s a big issue, foliage is very performance taxing. And in a game with such a high distance scaling as Gw2, things get more complicated to implement.
I think an improved texture package is more urgent, specially with the environment. Rocks, walls or wood structures have very low quality compared to other objects like armors and weapons or bosses and mobs.

well if added to the slider it would not affect those who don’t have it all the way to the top. I don’t see the problem with it.
In WoW you could even raise the amount over the max slider limit with some commands. it looked way awesome, although it did slow the framerate.
There was also an option (years back) to have intense grass and shrubs in Everquest 2. Killed most PC’s at the time. I’d like to see the option personally, I already have everything – and I do mean everything – cranked right up to max and still get a very decent frame rate.
Just as an experiment, I’d like to see at what point I could make GW2 play like a slideshow
Edit to add: Yes, I’d like to see darker nights too but I don’t want to have to use another software package over (or is it under?) GW2 to achieve this. I’d also like to see intense rain and storms (in valid areas, naturally) and perhaps create puddles and wet look scenery (fnar, fnar etc.)

Yeah, i also think this would be a good way to do it since you could adjust the performance loss to your computer so the foliage wouldn’t affect those players with a low spec PC. And yes, i also think that some better lightning and weather effects would be cool, but not as good as some better grass.
