I left months ago because everything was a mindless zerg fest, but came back to check out the Tequatl update. IMHO its a blast. I have been in 4 loosing attempts and 1 successful attempt. If people don’t work together and play smart you loose, plain and simple. This is exactly the kind of content this game needs.

I agree and disagree. I love the idea in concept but there are a couple of flaws in this process.

First, if someone is on the gun and AFK you’re sunk, which means a lot of wasted time. And in a lot of cases, you’re completely dependent on strangers.

It’s a great feeling though when you win.

It would be great, except for the fact that my server is literally full of children that cannot organize themselves to save their lives. To make matters worse, all of the strategic coordinators repeatedly guest to Blackgate so they can finally kill Teq. I’ve been the only commander on my server that’s been issuing orders that haven’t been followed at all, and I now see at least 5 afk players every time.

Heck, yesterday there wasn’t even an overflow for Teq on my server, and we barely managed to get his health down to 95% before he wiped nearly everyone out. And yes, I do mean nearly everyone. I think there were about 3 other people, including myself, that were left standing when Teq flew away. I can see why all of the strategists left to go to other servers now.

I’d like to see something done about Teq on the really crappy servers, because it’s nearly impossible for us to finish it.

It is a great fight.

Shame its on the open zerg category and not as a guild mission. Random people on turret usually waste everyone time. (lot of time if you consider waiting for the dragon)

Zerk is the average Joe build. Don’t pat yourself in the back too hard.

I agree with the OP, the Dragon events where always so easy, now that they started with Teq, people will have to actually do more than stand and spam buttons.

This is the kind of more epic feeling and looking dragon battle that I was expecting when I came to this game. Feels better than beating on the claw of jormag for sure. Even though I log in and see ten people on my server at the fight (just have to guest I suppose) and have yet to beat it I think you did a good job. There should be challenges out there that cannot be face rolled there already is enough face roll stuff in the game.

It should have been made far, far harder through…players are completing it too quickly and easily.

But they are going the right direction…so well done Anet.

A tip for Anet, if you think its really, really hard then made it 300% harder and you may produce some challenging content…

Now I’ve been fighting dragons since before it was cool to fight dragons, before their loot was upgraded, before there were timers for the spawns.

Many was the time when I would get a message from a friend…..
Friend: Fractal?
Me: no – Dragon!!!
Friend: lol

But I knew deep in my heart that my dragon hunting loving ways would pay off.

With 7 Tequatl the Sunless kills under my belt, the Sunbringer title over my head, and my mini Tequatl flying around me I feel like Mother of Dragons.

Good stuff

It’s zerg content, 100 people slapping teq’s feet and 20 people at each turrets (West/East)

it boils down to how good the turrets are, and how less likely people down in the teq ball.

It’s great that they finally did make it harder to succeed at defeating Teq. It’s still fairly new so who knows how long it will remain at this difficulty as more people learn what to do.

Whether it needs tweaking or not will be something to figure out once more people figure out how to beat it. It shouldn’t be too difficult to do with strangers since it’s out in the open world, but it doesn’t need to be as easy as it was.

The problem is that turrets have too large meaning. Take away the poison pools and give Tequila damage mitigation buff and turrets a aoe buff that allows dps to bypass it.
