Just some feedback re: the newest dyes:

Love the Permafrost, Eternal Ice, and Core Ice Dyes in particular (and I think the frostbite blue dye would go well with luminescent armor). I didn’t know it was possible to have a whiter dye than Celestial, so when I woke up the other day to find an epic preview of these amazing new dyes on the gw2reddit, it kinda made my day because for a while now, some of my characters needed just that little bit more white, and now they can have it

I wonder now, if Shadow Abyss is truly the darkest shade of black now? Or will we ever see a dye that is SO black that it’s almost like the black poly luminescent undulating refractor? Where you literally become as dark as a shadow! I sure hope so!

Thoughts on these new dyes and possible darker shades of black in the future?

I kind of have mixed feelings on this. I thought when I spent big bucks on celestial, that would be the ultimate in white.

However, this is so much whiter…….is that a word……I just may spend whatever is necessary to get it.

I don’t care about a lot of things, but I do like the the whitest, blackest, goldest, shiniest or whatever. Call me vain, but that’s what I like.

You’re not vain. You just want purity in your colors. I just bought celestial too. -_-

I’m just sad that my purchase of 5 rng dyes did not include any of the new ones I knew it likely wouldn’t, but I’ve been quite lucky in the past at getting a new dye out of 5 rng’s so I gave it a shot.

The previous couple of dye releases didn’t move me too much but previewing these on various armors makes me really want them — warning to those only looking at them on Dulfy’s pics, they come out very flat on her outfit whereas they actually have a lot of sheen and subtle gradient. I don’t care so much about the true white — the bloom is out of control — but the tinted ones are lovely.

Maybe they’ll be in the 5th birthday dye packs … nah. That’s coming too soon for them to make it into those.

Just think, there’s still room for even truer and brighter white dyes: Chaos, reducing the armor to a white negative space akin to the Chaos weapon set, and Nova, that just turns the entire character into a blinding white oval of light.

for the ppl that say they already brought celestial i understand but that doesnt mean they arent allow to release more whiter dyes or darker simply because ppl bought. Kinda like with class changes just because you got an asc set of you main class’ build that doesnt mean they sould never buff other builds or nerf yours

I’m not beefed about it and I don’t think the other poster is either. We’re excited more dyes are released. We’re just amused by the irony of buying the whitest white before an even brighter white was released. Besides, celestial still has a place.

I can understand the frustration of literally just unlocking the Celestial Dye, then having something nicer come out. Though, I guess if we knew what was coming into the gemstore in the future, we’d probably save our gems for those things and make way less purchases XD

I bought the Celestial Dye a long time ago and I thought that it was going to be the be-all-and-end-all of white dyes. After seeing Eternal Ice and Permafrost, it’s basically made Celestial obsolete (to me, anyway), as Eternal Ice, in my opinion, is just that little bit brighter, and that little bit nicer, while still maintaining enough detail in any armor/outfits you’re wearing.

Permafrost on the other hand, is SO white that it basically erases most of the detail on your armor/outfit – which, to me, is actually a good thing, because with some pieces of armor, particularly heavy armor, there can be some really ugly detail that I try to get rid of, but can’t – like the scallywag’s chestpiece – the straps have details I want to hide sometimes, especially when you just want it to be one, nice, solid colour – that’s where Permafrost comes in REALLY handy, as it eliminates all the unwanted detail. It also looks really nice on Mistward Warboots.

So I now have the Permafrost Dye unlocked, but I’m still going to go for the Eternal Ice dye because it’s between Celestial and Permafrost – bright and white enough, but still maintaining the detail in armor/outfits. I’ll use Permafrost on armor pieces where I want to eliminate the detail, to make it just a solid block of white. They’re both really good dyes, and serve different purposes. As for Celestial Dye though, it’s served its purpose, but now these new dyes will take its place.

I hope one day Anet comes out with a black dye that completely darkens the character and blocks out all detail – like the Permafrost Dye, only, black. I think that would be a must-have dye as well.

there is no such thing as white dye in this game, only a shades of gray.
you will learn that hard way.
