Oh well, considering that this halloween is the same as the last year and I’m not seeing the greatsaw skin coming back ever, I guess I’ll skip the event all together. Nothing new, nothing to work for and it’s lagging even more horribly than the last patch. Nearing the end of the september patch, I was able to play without lag again. After more than a month with constant 1s lag and peaks of 20-50s lagspikes, I was able to play again but jk, the new patch brought even more lag, now even fps are affected, TP crashes.

This is by far the dumbest way of getting those items. You don’t earn kitten, you are playing kittening lottery. Sorry but this is not how reward system should work in any game ever!

If someone wants to gamble or play lottery, there are plenty of ways to do this, gw2 is not one of those ways.

But obviously, you guys (anet) are not capable of creating content challenging enough, and difficult enough to reward players with such " valuable" drops, so you decided to make a lottery bullkitten and let the rng do the work for you.

I thought the chance of getting one of those was low with sets of 1000 and 2000. I didn’t think I there was much chance of getting one anyway with those odds. Now I know I won’t.

Considering how many players will be farming 24/7 with a hose going from their chairs to their toilets or are rich enough to buy eight million treat bags, I wish you luck in getting one of the skins from the raffle haha.

Think I have contributed about 13 wrappers so far :P

At this point, it’s easier to just farm money and order it on TP for 1.5k.

It is VERY upsetting to hear so many people crying and complaining to Anet to give them the skins again….. because they have ALWAYS been available on the trading post, just expensive.

They were ALWAYS expensive, even after the first halloween. If you want one of these skins, save up your money and buy one.

Everyone who participated in year one halloween did not automatically get a skin, and unless you were extremely lucky, if you wanted one you had to buy one…..

I think you are overestimating the number of people that still play this game… megaservers make it fairly deceptive.

I think your odds are better than you think. Remember it is only for people that log in for the next two weeks and put in tickets.

I’d put the odds at about 100/50000 = 0.2%

By that I mean 50,000 accounts, not 50,000 tickets. Probably an average of 20 or so tickets per account. I may be off by a factor of 2 or so, but I don’t think i’m off by an order of magnitude.

part of my love for my greatsaw is that i’ve only ever seen one other person using it.
best 1600g i’ve ever spent!

while i think adding 100 more will deliver a hit to its value,
i’m atleast happy they didn’t ruin it completely by adding it to a vendor/loot table.

GS skin was on TP for 200g for a good while.

I had recently joined the game at the time and was farming my way up to 200g. When I reached my 200g goal, news came that GS skin wouldn’t have been available on the following halloween, and prices skyrocketed to 1k and above and above.

I was like 1 week late, so no, it wasn’t always 1.9k with orders starting from 1.3k. Hell, some people even put it up for 5k now, just what the kitten? With those money I can buy a legendary lol

Also, it makes no sense that all other old skins have been reintroduced while only a VERY FEW skins remained unobtainable outside of TP with abominable prices. Or better, it’s reasonable for them to exploit the inflation and leave things as they are so that they milk more money through gems2gold system, but you realize it’s ugly. Just ugly.

Yes, everyone should bow down to the TP Barons. Anet should release content in pure RNG format, then the TP Barons should buy them all up (some with insider information on future releases or lack there of), then anyone who wants the skin should not work for farming said skins, but they should simply amass gold by running whatever the meta gold farming event of the day is, then transfer that gold to those said TP Barons (who at times simply buy and destroy items to reduce supply).

How about the game’s rewards mechanisms are improved to promote more fun?… even though Anet has seemed to do a complete 180 on “fun” since their pre-launch ads and videos.

No, that just shows how many prizes of each type are available. 100 random wrappers will be chosen to win Greatsaw skins, 200 random wrappers will be chosen to win Scythe skins, and so on. With the amount of submitted wrappers there’s going to be, there’s next to no chance that anyone will win more than one prize. But then, there’s next to no chance to win even a single prize in the first place. Such is how a lottery works!
