Thank you so much ArenaNet for the ‘salvage-all’ function.
Would love to see a way of doing something about sigils clogging up the inventory.
A few players will say mystic forge is good for them, but let’s be honest, that’s excruciatingly slow (with little reward).

Thoughts?

I’ve seen multiple threads like this over some time and it is somthing to really look into.
Maybe give the minor sigils/runes a "compress" option "compresses five random minor sigils/runes into a token.
Five tokens a day can be fed to an "eater device" (like Herta, Mawdrey II etc.) and gives out 5-10 of a random map currency per token.
There is also a small chance of someting unique only found in this "eater" like the endless karka tonic from princess.
Something usefull, something fun, problem solved.

The no. 1 problem with them is that they flood the inventory in no time at all.
ANYTHING to reduce that would be helpful.

Though a solution like yours would, in my opinion, be insufficient to deal with the annoying problem (very cool though).
Converter items like Mawdrey only have a few uses per day, whereas green sigils can accumulate by the hundred per day.
Best would be for sigils to be salvageable, or else AT LEAST able to be sold in bulk to merchants (preferably able to be gotten rid of in the inventory).

I can’t possibly overemphasise how much of an absolute crutch to the game sigils are..

Sorry about assuming you would only get about 30ish a day, I was just roughly looking at what I acumulate a day, but I don’t play long hours anymore
Getting 100’s needs a little tweak then
Sigils vendor prices vary between 16-58c and Runes 5-58c (correct me if wrong, but this is just for example)
So average of 31.5c each times 5= 1s 57.5c lets round that up to 1s50c per token.
* Tokens stack
* You can make more than 5 (just not use them right away)
* Tokens are account bound but can be sold to vendors for 1s50c each

Yeah the token option isn’t bad at all (assuming the numbers are calculated right), though it’d probably be easier to accommodate for every type of player (10 sigils vs 500 sigils per day) by having a simple option such as salvaging sigils for some kind of dust or else selling all (as junk?) to vendor.

Otherwise, that token idea may be getting somewhere, maybe as an unlimited token generator (more tokens = more effort).. don’t know

I’ve seen this topic come up a lot, and every time I heartily agree with it. The ability to tag green runes/sigils as “junk” and sell the lot off to a vendor with one click would be amazing.

ANet already just improved inventory management in a major way (ability to salvage everything with one click). This would be the finishing icing on the cake.

This. Salvage sigils into a “dust” item that can be sold to a merchant for 10 coppers each. Problem solved.
