Guild Wars 2

In my server this cathedral is never unlocked, people here are always just farming it and failing on purpose since this event is too hard for the rewards it gives (they say) does this happen also on the other servers (I’m in far shiverpeaks) or do people there tend to actually go for the conquer?

I kept trying most day (about 10x at least), and there was almost everytime someone actually pulling the shades to the npc granting it’s death (I did try to stealth it but wasn’t enough) instead of attacking the priest.

They don’t fail because its hard they fail because its one of the last spots to farm mobs that anethasn’t nerfed into the ground. But don’t worry they will kill this one to and people can go back to getting blues from the chest

It gives much much more for failure than blues from a chest. That is the simple answer. You get good mob drops each run, good karma each run, good silver reward each run.
