Griefers in JP
Using swiftness to help themselves is not griefing. Most swiftness skills are aoe, which is what’kittenting you. They aren’t doing it make you fail.
No, there was guy just standing there for a while waiting for people to get to the last 2 rungs of pipes then he would pop swiftness and they miss it
Not even trying to do the jp he just sat there popping swiftness
Swiftness actually helps me in some JPs.
Some people are doing it either to apply it to themselves, or because they genuinely think it’s helpful to randomly change how far people are about to jump.
But others are openly griefing, just sitting in one spot applying swiftness to anyone they can catch, and even openly laughing about how many people died because of it. Of course they get reported, but that doesn’t do anything for the people trying to do the puzzle at the time.

In some puzzles, and even then usually only in some places, it can be helpful. But I suspect the OP is talking about the new Aetherblade puzzle which has a lot of jumps that need to be carefully timed – even without swiftness it’s easy to overshoot them.
Then you’ve got some people camping out near some of the more award jumps spamming swiftness on groups of players just as they’re about to jump and then laughing at them when they die…it’s hard to believe they’re trying to help.

Happend on RoF today. It was like 4-5 people from the same guild standing there AOE speed buffing. They was there for like 30-40 minutes not doing anything else. They were laughing and calling people stupid etc. Stuff like that kitten es me of
So I cast retreat to speed buff myself but someone gets it midair which results in a ban for me? Strong logic?
it is unfortunate. I think the new JP needs a temporary Buff which prevent swiftness from being cast on you, that way you can control it yourself.
In most other JP’s swiftness is really helpful, but this JP is too finicky and the jumps are all designed with the default jump distance in mind so it really doesn’t help.
Difference between one woops and repeated troll. If people are actively moving then fine, but if they are just standing there rebuffing over and over you can tell the difference.
One report wouldn’t be insta ban, but if the consensus was large enough it might be an indicator that person was causing grief to the community.
i have a mesmer parked in the top of the JP, if you need a port come to SOR
I like to do them myself, but thanks
Pro Tip – Screw the JP, use Portals.
Pro tip – I like the challenge and my reward is self satisfaction.
