Hello all! I just wanted to point out that there are now 3-4 sets of unlimited harvesting tools+logging tools without any mining tools to complete these sets.

Logging Tools
Dreamcleaver Logging Axe
Frost Wasp Logging Tool
Focused Solar Logging Tool

Harvesting Tools
Glitter Bomb Harvesting Tool
Consortium Harvesting Sickle.png Consortium Harvesting Sickle
Jack-in-the-Box Scythe.png Jack-in-the-Box Scythe
Celestial Rooster Harvesting Tool.png Celestial Rooster Harvesting Tool

This inconsistency has been getting worse and now we have the Rooster harvester… If its not too much to ask, are there there any plans to complete these sets that are lacking Mining Picks? Is anyone else even aware of this?

As someone who has collected every complete set I cannot justify investing more money in incomplete sets. On the other hand I would be happy to continue buying unlimited gathering tools for my many other characters provided, the misfit tools (I listed above) include the 4 missing mining tools and the 1 logging tool.

Maybe I’m just being OCD but this seems like a very huge inconsistency.

At least you don’t use the wardrobe CONSTANTLY knowing DOZENS of skins and outfits are missing from it for NO reason..

Please keep it relevant to the unlimited gathering tools I get what you are saying about the wardrobe but I’m trying to address a easily fixable solution to a growing problem. We get 1-2 sets of gathering tools a year if we are lucky and there is an over abundance of logging and harvesting tools. Meanwhile, A-net might release a whole other complete set out of nowhere which compounds the problem.

Yes, I’d love a second and third skritt! And the solar tools as well.
But maybe we’ll get another zodiac sign tool next year (either axe or pick) and the third the year after :P

I wonder if part of the reasoning is because of the Watchwork mining pick? More precisely, I wonder if the mining tools sell fewer than the Logging and Harvesting tools and thus priority is given to those? Still, it seems like it would be a good idea to release them in sets.

I don’t follow. Those all look like misfits. None of them combine into a set. I want a full skritt set for my Sylvari warrior, but currently there is only the harvesting tool.

I was also interested in the frost wasp for my charr scrapper, but I want a set of bug tools, not just one.

I could even go for Dreamcleaver for my sylvari mesmer, but not if it’s only the logging tool.

Meh … ANet loves asymmetry. Not surprising at all.

I don’t agree that this is a problem, particularly since I rarely use a sickle, axe, and pick in the same spot. As long as there are roughly an equal selection of flashy, quiet, and fast variations of each, I prefer having more variety.

I embrace the growing asymmetry.

I’m with IWN on this. I love the variety and variation. Not everything has to be part of a set.

There’s a Karka Helm out there that lets you wear a karka on your face, like a facehugger from Alien or Half-Life 2. Should there be a full karka set, with karka gloves and karka leggings and..? You get the idea.

Variety is good!

I understand where u are coming from but what I am simply asking for are the missing pieces that would accompany the misfit tools. I want to have a complete set of everything weather it’s harmonious or random.

I thought about this but then I thought "why cant they just do this again with a different resource? They’ve been introducing tools that harvest more things like the snowflake and unbound magic tools.

I understood your request; I don’t support it and in fact, prefer the opposite of what you are requesting: more unique pieces rather than full sets.

I remember asking for and elemental insect set to go with my Frost Wasp Axe years ago.

Fire Ant Mining
Electric Beetle Harvest

as long as they keep it with either the elemtal wasps or the frozen insects it will be fine however after so long it’s easy to tell Anet just doesn’t care. Multiple years to add some of these such a span of time and all the droughts we’ve had and new tools there is no other excuse.

We had the molten mining tool for what… almost 2 years before the “set was complete”. But they are not a set if you read the description. But it works. The flute ones are slow and annoying as is the skritt, and don’t get me started on the jack in the box. All were purchases I regret. But at least they are 1000 gems now instead of 900 like they used to be. They should implement a preview function or exchange function, its not like they don’t already have all my gems ????

I don’t think unique tools or duo tool sets are an inconsistency at all. Let alone a “huge inconsistency” that is “becoming a problem”. It can easily be seen as intended.

I see it no different than unique weapons, those aren’t a “problem” either.

Unless I missed something, only the Watchwork Mining Pick adds something to your inventory when you use it, namely watchwork sprockets. All of the other tools only differ in animation. I would like to see a Sickle and Axe that give some kind of addition to what you’re harvesting.

What the OP is failing to realize is that the only mining tool worth getting, due to its nature, is the Watchwork Mining Pick. It is the only harvesting tool that has a chance to produce an additional item on top of the normal gathers – the Watchwork Sprockets – that can, as of now, only be gained from Watchwork Sprocket Nodes in Home Instances (as far as I am aware) and can be sold on the Trading Post for a profit.

Why waste the gems on something inferior?

You missed it, it came, and apparently went, a short time ago.
