Is there a chest in cursed shore that is guaranteed to give a rare? I thought I heard someone say there was but I can’t see to find it.

I dont know if you are being serious. In case you are I will leave the list of chest that do so, give guaranteed rares that is.

They are not “guaranteed”. I have definitely had blue/green drops from quite a few of these. And yes this is since they started saying it was a guaranteed rare. Some I can remember not getting a rare are Grenth and Frozen Maw. Im assuming Anet have a different definition of “guaranteed”.

ANets version of guarantee’d is most likely one in ten chance

Guaranteed if you see that really small chest next to the big chest and click on it when there are mobs of people around it :-)

Yes there is a chest that gives guaranteed rares. It’s about 3 feet from the giant chest that Rotbeard pops out of.
It’s in the lower galley of the giant ship in the south part of cursed shore.
Tip: don’t open the giant chest in the middle of the room. Rotbeard pops out.
Open the little chest beside it

Its NOT guaranteed… but has a high chance. Getting there is a pain in the butt.

People keep saying these events aren’t guaranteed rares. I’ve done between 200-300 of these events since the February patch and am 100% getting at least one rare out of the chests. Maybe it’s not the case for everyone, but it’s probably close enough to 100% to consider it a guarantee to get a rare. Not getting a rare would be shocking.

Yeah I wasn’t talking about the event chests in cursed shore. I was talking about the random chests you find out in the world. I know Harathi has a chest that always drops a rare but it’s a low level rare. I was wondering if there was one like that in cursed shore.

As for people claiming they aren’t getting rares from the buffed chests…Well you simply need to pay attention more and stop claiming you didn’t get a rare because you didn’t see it pop up on your screen when you opened the chest.

I can confirm that I have twice since the patch not gotten a ‘guaranteed rare’ from a couple of these chests. That being said, I’m not complaining because the loot has made these events worth doing again.

I’m just confirming that this does happen. Remember, they once said that champions were fixed and were guaranteed to drop loot… we all know how that turned out.

The world bosses events are guarantee rares but the icons on the right side sometime doesn’t show all your loots when you looted the chests but the rares are there. Most people didn’t see the icons when they looted the chest and assumed there weren’t any rare dropped but in face it’s in your inventory, it’s just most people missed it or don’t pay attention to it.

^ This is probably the case most of the time people claim not to have gotten rares.

That said, I can confirm that in some cases people are not getting a ‘guaranteed rare’. Hasn’t happened that often at all. Not enough for me to complain or be sore over. But it does happen.

This chest is guaranteed at least 1 rare item (earlier I said 2 but more often than not I get >2). The most I got is three. The quantity of items seems to be on the same scale as all the big meta events.

So if you have many alts but no patience to wait for dragons, you farm it.

Doesn’t take awhile to clear the mobs to the chest.

Again, just don’t open the big one (it’s actually a coffin)

By the way guys, by guaranteed rare, they probably meant rare item quality, not just rares that can be salvaged. So crescents and rare orbs are probably included in this table.
