Anyone else notice that being an NPC guard is pretty much a death sentence? 90% of the towns I’ll walk by, all the guard by the gate will be dead if there’s a hostile mob anywhere nearby. Patrols are even worse off… they will never, ever make it from point A to point B unless a player saves them.

Just seems kinda silly to me. Why even have them if they can’t fend for themselves at all? All it does is clutter up the map with “fallen ally” icons. Now I understand that there are some “hearts” that have rezzing NPCs as an objective, but I’m talking in general here. Being an NPC guard is a death sentence.

A couple issues I’ve noticed:
1. Guards almost universally lose 1v1 to the majority of mobs in an area.
2. Guards don’t seem to have “social” aggro, or in some cases any aggro. I’ve seen a group of guards by a gate, and one will be under attack by a mob or three while the rest just stand there until they are physically attacked themselves.
3. “Patrol” guards usually don’t stick together, or rez one another. What this leads to is a patrol of guards that might have been strong enough to fend for itself and look cool doing it loses members bit by bit, and then when they’re rezzed by players they aren’t a patrol anymore, just a bunch of individual guards wandering around getting picked off by the local wildlife.

Anyone else think these hard-working guys deserve a bit of a stats boost? Not saying make them all Determined Legendaries or anything, but at least give them a fighting chance?
