True that. My map killed Teq in only about 3 minutes (on the clock, less battery times) tonight, which is really much too OP even for me. I was leading one of the defense teams and we barely had time to deal with the first mob that spawned at the 14-minute mark.

People will complain no matter what… I say disabling it for the time being is the best possible action and i for one wouldn’t even have expected them to do it.

So lets just take a step back and appreciate the fact that Anet have actually taken temporary measures to rectify the situation until they can work on a more permanent solution. Because you know what? I believe they do care.

OK, so the problem with HP and world bosses, which HURTS players, is still 100% un-addressed. But the problem with an unintended talent use, which HELPS many players, is addressed already. BOTH problems were created by poor testing on Anet’s part. Thanks a lot, ANet, I can see your priorities are kittened.

Most of the world bosses are still 100% killable. The only ones that aren’t are TT (which is not supposed to be faceroll anyway) and teq. Teq even is still killable, but does take more effort and organization than before. They just need to fix the crit issue. His health is probably a non-issue once that is fixed. I don’t think they should just nerf his health yet.

And no, that guardian bug was not “helping.” It was trivializing content and ruining WvW.

The main problem is: Burst. Thief, Elementalist, Elementalist, Ranger, Mesmer and Engineer burst are responsible for thin causing Instant Kills.

Suggestion:

Remove burst from these professionals
Make serious change to their burst: -90% burst damage reduction.

Burst, Instant Kill do not do not require skill-play or risk-reward.. this suggestion will encourage them to be challenge and play with risk and be reward for it… instead of reward for it first.

Sorry but some of us enjoy fast paced combat. PvE mobs are easy anyway, fighting them for five minutes each will not make it fun. And pvp… well i’m not pvper, but when I do pvp in any game I enjoy fast paced combat. Less room for mistakes and it’s exciting.

EDIT: And playing glass cannon is exactly high risk high reward. Squishy and powerful, which means you have to perform with little to no mistake or get wrecked.

Fast paste combat is ok but should not require skill to do 80%-100% damage, is that fun? There should not be less room for mistakes, there should be room for mistakes. What is the point for learning from mistakes? Learning Curve: “the course of progress made in learning something” Combat should be about learning. not about killing fast. What is the point of challenge if this is the case?

That is why i always say there is no challenge: because it is all about who can kill the other fast in 1-2 damage. What is the point of having challenge modes if you get killed in seconds? Did you know the word Endurance is in challenging definition?

Evidence:

Challenging: “offering a challenge; testing one’s ability, endurance, etc:”
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/challenging

Endurance: “the ability or strength to continue or last,”
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/endurance?s=t

What is the point of testing another player strength, skills if they can just burst you 80%-100% using skill?

What is the point of endurance in a combat if another player can just burst you 80%-100% using skill, no matter what build use or not matter what armor you wear?

When Arena net want to take Endurance/Challenge serious, i will take the game serious.

Guild Wars 2 should be a Challenging/ Enduring game: not a Game Over game .

That is all.

Well, sorry, but again, fast paced combat is fun. And of course it requires skill. If your opponent is also glassy, then you both have potential to kill each other very fast, but who is faster, has better strategy, better reflexes etc? If you want to survive, then go bunker build, I hear those can kite forever.
And why do you say what gw2 should be? Just because you prefer something and wish it would work your way, it doesn’t mean that’s how the game should be. Game is and is gonna be what devs think it should be, because it’s their game.. You can only put suggestions/wishes, but you can’t tell anyone what a game should be.

No its an Anet done goofed with their broken crit box and blanket 200 hp buff. Anybody can kill Teq, but I’m not showing up and hour before the kill to “prepare” for such BS rewards that Teq drops. So basically Teq is pointless.

I think teq got much more than a 200 HP increase. In fact the total HP of teq has increased by 100% (not 200%. Double means a 100% increase.)

In any event, even with the HP increase, and without the Guardian bug, Teq is still doable. As you yourself have said. But what it comes down to is that you don’t want to put in the effort to get the rewards, and thus it is pointless.

So in the end, it’s not the HP buff, or the Guardian bug, its that you (and other similar minded players) want to be the most rewarded for as little effort as possible. And we wonder why the game is catering more towards a “casual” players……

Incorrect, effort is fine if it is rewarding. But Teq simply is not rewarding so the effort isn’t warranted.

Then don’t do it. Teq was incredibly easy before considering every map were able to have it on farm status for most of the spawns. The effort required now is not that much more than before.

I guess some people don’t think that +2g, several rares, a decent chance at exotics and ascended chests, as well as a ton of karma are not rewarding enough.

But this is left for another discussion as this thread is about the guardian trait beign disabled….

I understand the reasoning behind disabling it, but with so many other obvious broken OP traits running around the fact that Guardian was specifically targeted and others are running free kind of kittenes me off.

The guardian trait was running rampant in PVE and making it so zergs could get through doors in the borderlands faster than siege could break down a door. I agree it does suck for guardians, but it’s either that or figure out what in the coding is causing the trait to malfunction. I usually don’t make excuses for ANET, and yes, they definitely need to test this stuff better before they send out patches as big as these. But we live in the here and the now so the only options available were disable it, roll back the patch, or wait until they can figure out what’s wrong.

ArenaNet doesn’t care if players are getting insta-killed by other players, they only care if players are insta-killing bosses. When grenade barrage starts trivializing Teq then you will see them do something. They’ve been doing this since launch, unbalanced skills in PvP? Leave it in for a year or more! An event or mob being farmed that they didn’t intend? Nerf it immediately! If you want the no OP skills nerfed you need to show how it’s causing things to be farmed quicker/easier than intended.

Yes! reduce burst damage by -90% or reduce burst damage by -50% with 240 second skill cool-down. Not to forget: Fire Sigil and Air sigil which is also responsible: so i suggest these 2 sigils be reduce to 70%. The goal is to reduce every non-challenge and non-enduring: include--sigils, builds, weapons, etc… from burst damage.

This is what i do now: before pre-order anything: i do research in the company history to current: how the company resolve problems and how the company take serious action against problems. Last: I continue research: do the company take challenge, risk-reward, hard-work, hard-effort, skill-play and fun serious?. Importantly, do the company work with their players to fix and improve the game?

If there is a No answer to any question: I will refuse to pay anything.

Why pay for problems with no serious changes instead of solutions with serious actions?
