That said, some warriors are outstanding in sPvP and WvW and some guardians are remarkable in PvE and skirmishes. Depends on the player.

Honestly play what is more fun for you. In my experience both are outstanding if you get the build right. That said, my Warrior seems to stand up better when I play by solo, and with friends the guardian rocks the house with group power.

That amount of cumulative team healing is simply staggering…
^ you see this is the problem, half the time classes in this game make absolutely no sense. Warriors are never supposed to be as to heal anywhere close to Guardians, or bunk nearly as well, because that’s what makes Guardians Guardians, that’s what they sacrificed all that attack power for.
Anet needs to sort balant imbalances like that out before even thinking about going eSports, people cannot feel competitive in a game where balance is this broken.

best part? The guy doesnt even move…… wanna know whats even better?! D/D ele was never able to achieve that kind of healing, was harder (or could be messed up LOL, I mean, it must be really hard soamming /wave and /sit as a warrior sometimes I guess, but then again, that class is so brain dead that I wouldnt actually be surprised), didnt have warriors mobility (and now cant even outrun a necro ….lol ) and its damage was probably less than that warrior given how banner buff stats and warriors have high coefficients as opposed to eles. But it is cool, knee jerk nerf eles in a blink, not once, not twice, but multiple times until they become the sad state we know call the almost-8th-profession

It might be that they got, what 2 people? On the balance team and they also for reasons I cannot comprehend, do not balance PvP and PvE separately. Even low-tier F2P games balance PvP and PvE differently.

The funny thing is that this kind of warrior, with their high base HP, can wear shaman (apothecary for PvE/WvW) and actually inflict decent condition damage when using sword/longbow. Not great, but clearly higher than what a bunker/healway guardian does.
For WvW healway guardian still heals for more tough. Not sure about sPvP, probably only if there’s a teamfight and he can benefit from AH.
Trolling ? Can a guardian regen 1000hp per second ?

You mean something like this?
Because that thing only has 1539 healing power, which means the following:
- 469/s from Healing Signet
- 322/s from Regeneration
- 197/s from Adrenal Health
Which amounts to a total of 988/s. You could get it a bit higher by making some big sacrifices, such as using Healing Power runes, Mango Pie, and statting into Defense for extra Healing Power.
And the damage? Well, this non-zerk build has about 70% more damage.

Depends how you like your hammers. If you want a solid weapon with some useful situational utilities, go guard. If you want half your skills to hit the entire screen with group cripples, group knockdowns, and a hugely damaging AOE stun while being mostly invincible, go warr.

I know which one is more fun, for me, and that’s definitely the Warrior. My preconceptions were that a Guardian is just a wimpy version of the Warrior, and I was right. Why serve in Heaven when you can rule in Hell etc.

-awesome elites
-good mobility
-all weapons are fun
Guardian:
-depressingly dull traits
-slow skills
-useless elites
-poor mobility
-all weapons are tedious and boring
Guardian, using food and buffs as the above warrior, gets 2134 healing power:
*Signet of Resolve: 262/s
*Virtue of Resolve: 265/s (affects allies)
*Regeneration: 397/s (affects allies)
*Writ of the Merciful: 134/s (affect allies, I already reduced by half for 50% uptime)
Already I’m beating Warriors in healing per second. Add in:
*Selfless Daring: 224/s minimum (1 dodge every 10s, also affects allies)
*Tome of Mercy heals
*Healing utility skill like Sanctuary or Merciful Intervention
*The possibility of rearranging traits to get AH or MF
Then guardians have ample access to protection and aegis, as well as blind.
The comparison isn’t even close for pure bunkering. In addition to that, almost all guardian heals affect allies while Warrior just has regen or shouts (not both). Regen may look fancy in a big zerg but you’re totally naive and self-absorbed if you think no one else is bringing regen and regen doesn’t stack intensity.

Idk, its up to personal taste. I found Warrior traits to be really boring, because they’re almost all just basically stat increases of one form or the other. Pretty much all Warriors use Warbanner because of how useful it is, but it certainly isn’t ‘fun’ to use due to a whooping 240 sec CD.
Guardian traits on the other hand, are very very interesting. An example being the trait that turns consecrations into ground targeting skills. They often massively change the way you play or how a mechanic works, leading to a lot of diversity. Whilst the elites are not as powerful as Warbanner, they’re more fun to use personally.
Warrior’s bunker is limited to just pure healing. Poison with condi spam and you will get destroyed. I think someone mentioned this, but the only reason warriors seem so OP at the moment is because all of their sustain is in a single skill, healing signet. Give them more access to boons such as protection and whatever then give the signet a nerf. And the ignorance is strong in this thread – Getting a regen of 1000+ literally sacrifices all damage. Banner healing is needed and im pretty sure you cannot hit 1000/sec purely with the signet. Ill say it again so newbies get it this through their thick heads, condi spam or a little dps pressure burst and warriors will fall.
To answer the OP:
- For hard damage in pve with casual wvw, pvp go warrior
- For the high end spvp, gvg, commanding wvw and etc go guardian. Guardians are without a doubt the better bunker
Depends for every individual situation (what you’re doing in each mode/who you’re partied with). Any other answer is just fanboy stuffs.
