I really don’t understand why people expected Anet to repeat the same thing from last year. That’s not dishonesty; that’s truth. I may have phrased my post above badly, though.

Tbh I expected World 3 which is new content, although the “joke” is the same I guess.

My fear is that since they’ve gone for something else for April’s Fools, we won’t be seeing any SAB soon. And it’s a kitten shame because I think w1 and w2 especially were some of the most engaging GW2 experiences, but people saw there were no shinies to be earned and the levels were difficult so they stuck to their awesome champ trains. Arenanet saw the metrics and decided to do more champ-trainy stuff and put SAB on hold.

Forgive the rant.

I don’t think anything will be announced for a while. Everything is aimed towards the feature pack patch.

I’m not really missing it to be honest. The first SAB was alright, the second was just a frustrating mass of nonsense.

The problem isn’t that we dont get SAB, the problem is that we dont get anything. Bobbleheads? Really? Is that all? Is that even funny?
Bobbleheads alone would be fine is today wasn’t the usual release date. WE get no content today, we get no content 15.04, whe will we get at least something?

They probably don’t want to so strongly associate SAB with april fools day, else people will expect it every year, and ANet might want to do different things for april fools day each year, like turning the entire game in to bobble heads… :P

They’ve pretty much stated that the reason it isn’t is to ‘protect’ the rarity of the SAB skin-market. Cursed snowflake players and economists ruin everything.

I’m not saying it’s right. I’m saying it’s a simple fact. Anet loves their WvW. They want to get as many people as possible into WvW as they can. SAB will do exactly opposite of that.

Plus it was announced a while back that there will be no content patches till some good amount of time after the Features Patch. You’re just expecting something that is not coming and was confirmed that is not coming.

I personally would love to play some SAB. It’s been a while. But I also know that it’s not something Anet will release around this time because of things that are happening. And SAB would literally steal the spotlight from all of it.

As to your “breaking news”, at least be realistic with them. Nobody would seriously accept a “q” when it’s ready when you’re in the middle of SAB. It just wouldn’t happen. Especially if you’re in tribulation mode.

It wouldnt completely steal the spotlight of WvW.
The die hard people would still go in at resets and the weekends. Which for most servers is all that matters

Hey there!

Please give us at least a hint when we can await the next iteration of the Super Adventure Box. I mean, last year it was on April 1st, too. Then, exactly half a year afterwards on Septembre 3rd we got the second world. So it was almost crystal clear that we´d get to play world 3 today. But no. Instead we got bobblehads (which, as i have to add, are hilarious and were a kittening great idea. I certainly laughed out loud, travelling through many areas just to see those heads on mobs).

So, without wanting to dismiss the bobblehead-idea as stupid, i can´t help myself being a little bit disappointed. The SAB was one of the best, if not the best releases ever. It is way more fun than zergballing a marionette, invaded main town or a certain queen´s jubilee. It is way more fun than grinding a route of champions, doing the same wordlbosses over and over again or running a dungeon for the bazillionth time.

Please, give us a single hint! Not exactly a “When it´s ready”, a bit more of course… you know what i mean. Please!
Those who support this appeal, please help keeping this thread on the first page.

not just SAB, we dont have a single patch today, tbh i would careless about sab( not true) but not even a patch..i guess anet is known to set standards and slap its own face with.

it would have been a perfectly timed update for people who aren’t inclined to grind out achievements in wvw or play pvp without any discernible rewards…what’s this a month without patch and in place we get annoying bobbleheads…thanks

It is quite funny that people are expecting SAB to return because it was Aprils Fools thing last year. I mean, wouldn’t people just whine like mad if all they did was release the same joke again this year?

SAB—go get your old nintendos and game boys out for 8bit games. Sorry SAB just isn’t my cup of tea—-they should be spending their time on fixing core issues that are still around since release day.

I literally quit playing this game after they took SAB out and have been waiting eagerly for this specific day.

I am 26 years old and pixelated jumping puzzle enviroments with dark souls difficulty tribulation mode is the only thing that that appeals to me at all about this game.

Before going to work I logged in only to be disappointed with Moto telling me that I can’t play the best thing that ever happened to this game for me. I know ANet already has my money and I can’t change anything by complaining on their forums. I will however make it known that I am optimistic for its re-introduction into the game. Maybe not today, or even this month. I know it is coming back though. The care and love that the devs put into SAB is special and it belongs to an era that I grew up in.

This is all speculation.. I know. I still want to believe that I will be able to be jumping about and listening to the beautiful music once again.

Last time SAB wasn’t played much, so Arenanet looked at the metrics (like they always do) and decided it wasn’t worth it so they put the project on hold.

SAB was clever for last april fools. It would be expected this year, and that’s the opposite of what april fools is about.

i cannot understand why people just say “No” to SAB. Its okay if you dont like it, but you dont have to play it! if you like it more to run around in circles, farming in brainless zergballs, then fine, i dont like that. but i don´t tell them to not do so. the SAB should return, and who said it should have replaced the bobbleheads? Also, its way more than just an april fools release, since it got its own chapter in the Living Story last septembre.

FYI, the two SAB releases were only 5 months apart.

It has been 7 months since the last SAB release.

There is no 6 month pattern to speculate on.

It makes me like it less. I love SAB, but I don’t want to have to play it to death all in one month feeling like I’m on a timer. If it was here all year round I’d hop in quite frequently to grab a skin token or hunt an achievement or a skin, and actually be able to relax and enjoy it rather than feel like I need to get it all done as fast as possible.

I really really wish they’d make it permanent.

I remember back in the days when you had to pay monthly for games that gave you new releases once every third month or something if you were lucky.

They made it VERY clear last year that there would be four Living Story updates, then a break, then the Feature patch, then another break and then Season 2 of Living Story.
I really don’t see why people keep ignoring this information.

The information is being ignored because SAB. At this point there is nothing that SAB enthusiasts wants to hear than “Here’s SAB”. It’s called denial stage. It’ll clear up tomorrow, when the chances of SAB coming out will be slim to none.
At this point in time it happens that it’s a 1 year anniversary of SAB being released and standards been set, therefore SAB was expected. Since it hasn’t been announced, many have told themselves that it must be a surprise, regardless that it was said numerous amount of times that no content patches will be released before the end of the WvW Tournament.
It’s heartbreaking for a fan to expect to see something they love not come out as expected. Especially when they’ve been pumping themselves up for days now. It’s cool to get excited, but it got to the point where it wasn’t an excitement anymore, but rather expectation. And since it became “expected”, people get disappointed and angry, when they should be angry at themselves.
When SAB first came out it was a joke. It was a one time thing that wasn’t meant to get big, but rather something fun and refreshing. It’s not a joke anymore. It became something many of us got to love over the two short months we got to play it.
Don’t let SAB become living story that’s being rushed every two weeks, but rather something that’s polished and cherished by devs. Let them be absolutely excited when they release new world rather than cross their fingers and hope no bugs turn out because they had to rush it to get it out on time.

It’s sad I really looked forward to it. Hopefully after 4th world it will be permanent as the box will not be “upgraded” anymore.

I think most of us can wait a long time for SAB, the problem for most is that ANet hasn’t confirmed or denied anything about it. If someone from ANet said, “SAB will not happen today or this month. We will be releasing an update in the future but a specific date hasn’t been chosen.”, I would be more than happy. It would resolve my 2 most important questions; Is SAB happening today or this month and is SAB ever going to happen again?

Please ANet, just post in here and confirm or deny. I don’t even mind if it doesn’t happen today. I mean it already hasn’t. I don’t even mind if it doesn’t happen this month. Just relieve me of my burning questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aww, I was hoping for SAB since I’ve never got to try it. Maybe that’s the April Fools joke :p. Tomorrow it will open and they will say April Fools! We really did make it. Lol.

They sold Infinite Continue Coins in the last addition of it, which means it will come back otherwise they would not have done that. Also there was a sneak peak of the third world, and even the character in game that lets you into SAB states that it will be back.

WvW seasons is a garbage concept, all servers already know who’ve won, it also depletes weak servers so people can bandwagon/stack, which makes it unfair/not fun to participate if you aren’t on a stacked server. All they did was tack on achievements, they didn’t fix wvw issues, they didn’t fix zergballs, they didn’t improve anything or add anything else. I really hate that people defend that concept.

Anyways, SAB is better because it has skilled based rewards… I’m tired of all this gold only garbage for a game that has cosmetic progression.

They didn’t mess up with the second SAB release at all. There were just a lot of ppl crying because they couldn’t make it (even tho it wasn’t that hard). I think world 3 hardmode should be even harder. It has to be frustrating so you feel even better if you’ve done it. Corresponding the skins would be kinda unique or rare because not everyone could do it.

SAB was the one and only challenging content in this game so far. PPl just cried because they’re not used to do anything but casting autoattack on champions.

Sab was always on my to do list but unfortunately was always just below some other stuff I was working on.
