Guesting and Guild Banks.
I’m curious about how/if guild influence will be earned while guesting.
Guilds have never been server specific… I can’t imagine why guesting would affect this at all, unless there’s something I’m missing.
Well for example:
Some friends has a guild and has unlocked a guild bank on Server A but then transfers over to Server B.
Having no guild bank unlocked there they can’t access their Guild Bank(Dont know if the bank is server tied or not).
And so they decide to guest over to Server A to access it.
But…guilds are not server specific. You should get the same guild bank regardless of your server…

I’m not sure you are “missing” it, but you may have forgotten or not been told this- Influence achieved by a guild is specific to that server, unless that has changed since Mid November. This also includes upgrades, bonuses and items in the guild banks (assuming you can even access your guild bank on that server, which would need you to purchase the upgrade there as well).
Example: My friends and I, upon entering GW2, made a guild so we could chat easily. We earned some influence, used our tomes of influence from deluxe edition, and built up a good bit. Bought some upgrades, etc.
Anyhow, we decided to move servers. Turns out… all our stuff stayed on our previous server. All influence, upgrades and other things are server specific. If you have guild members on Blackgate, and you are on Tarnished Coast, they will not have access to your guild upgrades and will not affect your influence.

Your Guild upgrades are tied to a specific server.

That’s interesting because, last I checked, if you transfer servers your guild dies. (or loses all its upgrades anyway)

It is. But I’ve been looking around and can’t easily find an official announcement on it, so it probably isn’t something many people know about unless they have tried it themselves or spoken with a guild that has.
Guilds themselves are not server specific, however their influence and upgrades, such as the guild Bank, are.

^ That.
My guild is mainly on FA, but some people are hunting for a server that has the god shrines unlocked so they can get their obby shards. When they transferred over, they saw no influence that we had on FA and all the upgrades from the FA side did not exist. When they transferred back everything was hunky dory.

I am curious about this also. I am still in a guild from another server. I still run dungeons with this guild regularly. Once guesting is in place, can I guest on my old server and while there have access to the guild rewards and the guild bank?
I’m curious about this as well. A number of people from our guild and our GW1 alliance’s guilds are considering changing servers, but there are a number of people who possibly won’t be able to switch prior to the 28th.
Is there some plan to make guild bonuses span across servers? It doesn’t really make sense to splinter the rewards that guilds provide if they contain people that don’t happen to all be on the same home world.
