Lady Sco-Guardian
All others do not matter
So I am not sure if this has been posted yet on a different forum or if this is the right place for it but here it goes. Here recently the guild I am in [Soul] along with [SDS] have formed an alliance for various reasons, which leads to my question, why we must say we are in a alliance rather then have in game functions that support it?
I know that I am not alone on this and have heard many people asking for features along the lines of alliance chat, the new lfg tool to search for alliance party’s along with your personal guilds, also if guild halls are ever introduce we would be able to visit any of the guilds in the alliance for events, meetings or just a common place to hang out.
Another positive to this would be that the smaller guilds wouldn’t feel as small if they had another four or five guilds their size there ready to have their backs if need be. I personally do not WvW a lot but feel this would also be useful in that aspect of the game as well.
I did play guildwars1 and miss this feature and think that this should have been in the game from day one. I know there were many things that required that attention at the time but it is something i would love to see in the game and feel it would bring all of the guilds on all of the servers closer together.
I am an officer in [SDS] and I/we are 100% on board with the alliance’s making their way into GW2. Being able to just link a wp to alliance chat and having all your friends from multiple guilds showing up would be unmatched. With all the world bosses gaining their deserved toughness and glory we feel this might be the perfect time to bring it up! Being able to tackle Teq or Balthazar temple in a muli guild event would be a great addition to GW2.
We have the same problem with our friendly guild.
While aTs focus on WvW, sometimer we play PvE with other guild.
Because of party limitation of 5, we use for wvw mainly guild chat, but having some “aliance chat” would be welcome.
I belong to two guilds that are very friendly with one another and we help each other out all the time. We enjoy playing together quite a bit. It is a shame that we cannot have at least an alliance chat in order to communicate easily. It would make many things much more enjoyable.
In fact, there are two other guilds that we also enjoy playing with from time to time. It would be great if all four of these guilds could band together and beat on a world boss (especially Teq) and communicate freely.
I really don’t see an in-game Alliance channel or anything of the sort till GvG gets put in, which would really spice the game up for me since I love WvW and the occasional sPvP/tPvP.
I firmly support the implementation of Alliances, and Alliance chat for a few reasons, touching on some of the above.
When I first joined the game, a lot of guilds popped up trying to cram in tons of members to get them all aboard for the WvW train that was in high gear in the beginning. They made guilds with the same tags, but had to keep members in both, and switch representations to get any knowledge passed back and forth. I can understand that that “works” but a simpler option would’ve been having the large multi-guild guild in an alliance with itself, using alliance chat to send the message faster to all members of the large guild.
Now where the population for joining these extremely heavy numbered guilds has dropped, guilds that want to create alliances that come from different backgrounds, but want to find co-operation together in events to bring the members together and create new experiences, an Alliance option of some sort would help cement these things. Instead of just being “understandings” they’d have a cemented structure in which they could thrive.
Think of this in a sense. Using the above guilds [SDS] of which I am a member, and [Soul]. If guild activity through events is supposed to bolster the Influence earned by the guild, then why not have an allied event, like guild missions, where both guilds take place, but since both are co-operating together, they would gain an increased influence. Something to sweeten the pot for coming together and staying true to an alliance. Not make it manditory thing, but something that would be interesting or cool to see. Things like Alliance banners, would be pretty awesome too.
Hey we could even have an Alliance Hall, or Guild Hall? Something that outside of the events that we get together to be a part of, that we could have something we could pool resources in as a whole to create for the Alliance that is formed.
I would love to see this in the game for the simplest reason of wanting to be part of my guild and the agreement we’ve made with [Soul], but I’d also like to see if more could be done with it to make it something more amazing and impressive than in Guildwars.
