Maybe I am missing the way it works, but if I am reading correctly it costs me 1 gold to buy a piece of guild armor, which changes the look of a single piece of my armor to the guild emblem look. Which by the way i can not preview.

It’s like a really expensive transmutation stone to a single, unseen but guild adorned piece of armor.

So what is the point? And is this for the set of armor, or would I need to spend 6 gold to get a full set of armor, again which I cant preview. Cant imagine how an emblem would be needed on a pair of gloves, or even visible…

I love my guild but I cant see this as being anything anyone would ever use.

the backpacks, however, are useful, but also grossly overpriced.

If you got an armor you know you wont be replacing for a while buy a guild armor imo.

The guild picture won’t go on gloves and boots. It’s part of an armor set. An armor set is a collection of 6 pieces of armor that look better together instead of mixing 6 different pieces. It’s the difference between painting a nice looking car in a nice black/white color instead of red, blue, pink, green, yellow, and black. One is going to look a bit better or pleasing on the eyes to most.

And to me it’s not expensive. I’m not rich, but months from now people will have plenty of gold. It won’t stay expensive for long.

The one thing I will agree on though is the preview. I wanted to preview it but had to look at the wiki. I was lucky to find a female asura in it, but the other two pictures I found of heavy/light were low quality. Previewing would be a nice thing.

I haven’t seen the guild armours or been able to preview them yet, so correct me if I’m wrong, but the wiki showed guild armour was just a chest peice for each armour type. And they look like tabards from WoW. I don’t want to change my awesome looking chest armour to some ugly tabard just to represent my guild. We need to add them to our current armour, or have lots more options to pick from.

The price IS too high for one guild emblem to be added….Perhaps they made it 1g with the view that you wouldn’t do it until level 80 and a stbale peice of armour. Why? I would like to go into WvW with my guild at level 20 and be able to afford to represent my guild, and for us to have our emblem makign us look similar. It feels prohibitively expensive to anyone who hasn’t been grinding level 80 areas for at least a week.

The plainness of the tabard is really disappointing — as is the excessive cost of it, being a single-use transmute. I guess I could keep it on my character by perpetually transmuting it each time I upgrade my armor, but that’s costly.

I like the backpacks, at least; they add something unique to your character with the logo without replacing something as critical as the chestpiece.

What I really wish we had was emblemed SHOULDERS. It’s a good evolution of the idea; there’s already an ankh emblem on the guardian shoulders, after all. That way you can fly guild colors without having to wear a tabard or a pack.
