I don’t know about anyone else but I am getting tired of having my guild bank constantly looted by people who then delete their character and do it to some other unsuspecting guild.

When I previously played EverQuest II they had a system in place that would allow you to set limits on how many items could be withdrawn within a 24 hour period for each rank in the guild.

Is Guild Wars going to have a system like that further down the line, and if not it seems like a very good idea.

Perhaps, you could set the restrictions provided on who can access the Guild Vault.

Guild Bank already has restrictions.New guild members can’t withdraw from the guild bank for 24 (or 48 or….i don’t remember how many hours) and you can add restrictions yourself through ranks.You let others to “steal” from your guild bank..

aye our guild fridge (we only keep food and transformation drinks in the 150 slots vault and named it “fridge” yeah good for those 25 food eaten daily) was robbed twice.

we promptly restocked our fridge after each theft though.

My sympathies for the losses, but Inculpatus has your solution right there. Create a rank for New Members, and do NOT allow New Members to withdraw items from the Guild Bank. Move New Members to a “Verified” rank after, say, a month or two, when you’re reasonably certain they’re not a thief.

that’s what we do, but sometimes unfortunately hacker strikes, and the hacker clean out our fridge.

fortunately, we only keep food and drinks in there. XD

We like to use the first 50 slots for anything expensive and to stash gold in and only our leaders and the 4 other people with the rank just below them can access it. It has made it so we have only had one mild theft situation in the last year or a little more.

I’m pretty sure that only the leader of my main guild has access to the bank. Others can look at what’s in it but can’t withdraw anything.

The other guild I belong to never uses ours, so it’s not been a problem. Generally, as a rule of thumb however, I wouldn’t ever put anything into a public bank that I minded getting stolen, as it’s just temptation waiting to happen. It’s not fair, but it will probably happen sooner or later.

The way my guild does it is anyone can deposit but only officers can withdraw. This has also caused some problems with our guild from nobody asking for anything and its to the point the leader is wishing our bank to get looted so it would clear some space for some new items.

Ideally anything of value should be in the guilds treasure trove or deep cave with access only by the guild leader or higher ranking officers, the guild bank should be used for items that guildies want to trade with each other, last guild I was in any member could deposit items in the treasure trove but only the officers could remove the items and it worked out very well, most of the stuff in the general bank area was items that none of us wanted but helped out new members to the guild/game like 8/10 slot bags, low level food and potions, minor sigils, runes, stuff that might help a level an alt also.
