Guild Wars 2

So i noticed that the guild chat that was writen while beeing on my ele disapears after i relog on my mesmer , for example. Is this a bug or a feature ? i think i can remember that it wasn´t always like this , but i´m not sure.

I always wondered why only guild chat goes away, but map chat and others stay.

Personal messages may disappear. In change of char. In change of chat tab. Reported about month ago; no fix yet? No chat lines should disappear. Or is there some good reason for it?

As far as I remember it has always been like this. My guess for the reason is that your different characters could be representing different guilds? So it resets every time you swap characters so you don’t get confused with the guilds…

As far as I can remember it has been doing this since launch. Presumably because each char can be repping a different guild and they didn’t want to confuse matters where you switch, see a comment in guild chat for one guild while repping another, and respond on that guild chat, possibly inappropriately.

Anytime you step representing a guild, your guild chat backlog gets erased. When you log out, you are on no character at the moment, so you are not representing any guild.
They did it at the same time they did the same to the party chat backlog (don’t remember when, but was within first half a year of the game).
