When my guild was active we used to scrim most of the time in the arena, it was way too small, but the scrims were kinda like south ruins on the alpine borders, with less of that annoying terrain. The meta changed as well, so you had CoR spam every 2s aswell and other OP stuff, eventually boon share and conditions necros.
I play casually now, but still hope to see a bigger arena and stuff like retal/condis values more like wvw, it was enjoyable in a sense, we could fight guilds from other servers, even when we had a dead matchup.
Plays completely opposite professions to his main Teef.

- Bring back the interest of hardcore WvW/GvG/RvR players to the game
clean nameplate in the arena, without mastery level or pvp rank etc. as of now you can differentiate which one is clone and which one is the real mesmer, just by looking at the nameplate.

Honestly, even if they fixed up the arena to be OS-equivalent with easy access, I doubt it’d see much use considering how terrible combat is now.

… I agree there are bigger issues like the passive meta, but a different team is in charge of that.
Lol, less of that annoying terrain. Yeah who wants to think tactically and use awareness of their surroundings when we can fight on flat boring surfaces.
I’d love it if the arena was bigger and you could add terrain, different elevations and thin walls to LoS behind. Right now it’s boring and the few features you can put in are very big pullers.

They promised a bigger arena as soon as they received feedback about the current one being too small. They just never delivered it.
I think it’s pretty amazing the they would create arenas without ever considering that the GvG scene does 15v15 or 20v20 and not 5v5. It is as if they wanted to make sure nobody would use them.
So yeah also the current battle meta isn’t fun for GvGs and the GvG scene is long dead.

Haven’t you heard? There is not such thing as GvG, the Devs told us allready and if you are playing this mode you are a minority and they don’t care. ;P

Last I was messing around with it you could only put in turrets which no-one wants and pretty big pillers that take up way too much room. They might have changed it but I’ve not had a mess around in it for a while.
So dumb how they messed something up that’s so simple. Giant sized guildhall, but a dinky sized arena. GvG dead now anyways why bother.

I never understood why the guild hall is so large, like huge … yet they never implemented any sort of purpose to it outside of making it look pretty (empty). I could understand if say … they became home bases, and opponents would need to breach it in some epic battle, but why make it so darn huge and empty (to the point you need waypoints) if it’s relatively under utilized and servers little purpose outside of dailys and gold sink.
Surely we didn’t need a huge map to skirmish in our tiny miniscule arena. Surely those nodes are not going to require huge vast areas to traverse.

That reminds me, everyone gets terrible FPS there too compared to non-HoT maps and wvw BLs. But I suppose optimization is a harder issue to solve.
