I have been excited about guild halls since day one of GW2. We are a very small guild that has been saving for the day when it will eventually happen and have a mear 500,000+ Influence earned. the plan was to hope tp bebale affoed a nice guild hall when the rime comes.

Fast forward — So it appears that guild halls will need new currency. What will happen to our nest egg of influence?

Will small guilds just be pushed aside and not be able to get the nice halls? um we paid for the game too..

I typed an answer and the forums had a problem. Short version: Upgrade what you can before HoT, your influence will be slowly and timegatedly useful-ish. Check ANet’s blogs and Dulfy’s summaries of the Guild Week live streams for more details.

“We are balancing most of the cost assuming 10 players.”

What a shame. So Anet made a game that smaller guilds will struggle in even though we paid the same amount.

hum.. 500 000 Influence, that doesn’t sound small at all.
And you can use that influence still to speed things up. And actually the larger guilds will have millions of influence, so the fact that you don’t spend it anymore, actually makes you able to compete with larger guilds, because its less about having more people just logging in and doing random stuff not guild related, but more about having your people coming together to play as a guild should. Together. Me, as someone who has a actual small guild, i’m really happy with the changes, since now, i can get my people to work and still be able to “compete” with larger guilds.

Have any links?
So just spend it all?

No. What you should aim, and you don’t really have much time, is to get all the main stuff to Lvl 6 (architecture and such) since there will be decorations for doing that.
Then you can start buying banners at least (not sure what other consumables will transition), i’m focusing on exp banners to help out with the Masteries, but i’m sure you can stockpile all the ones you want.

10,000 Influence to 1 Favor exchange rate that we saw in guild chat live stream, we don’t know how much you can exchange per day. Various new currency caps and time gates will be put in place to prevent rich players or guilds from instant buying everything on day one.

As for small/tiny guilds are basically being told go big or go home as they are trying to force the players base to play together more than what we currently do according to the Dev’s.

“If only ANet had some kind of forum they could use to communicate with us……”
“ANet. They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity to not mess up.”
Mod “Posts created to cause unrest with unfounded claims are not allowed” lmao

I googled http://dulfy.net/2015/09/30/gw2-guild-week-day-two-livestream-notes/ and you can look for days one, three, and four to supplement.

ANet’s blogs are via the guildwars.com link in your upper left of this page, scroll through the pages to find anything guild related. (I direct you to do this because I would have to do it myself to find the links).
