In order to accommodate development and hosting of Guild Wars 2 raids, we will be changing the time that guild mission resets take place each week. Starting Monday, October 5, 2015, guild mission resets will take place at 12:30 AM Pacific time each Monday.
Note: In order to make this adjustment there will be no reset on Saturday evening, October 3. Instead, that week’s guild mission period will be extended slightly to allow for this update. Subsequently, guild mission resets will occur each Monday morning, at 12:30 AM Pacific time.
Currently the first key from the personal story limit, derived by players rather than told by the devs, is reset the same time as the Guild Mission Reset.
Will it also move to this new time?

Questions:
Does this time coincide with other weekly reset timers – like the level 10 personal story key reward?
Are daily resets still 12:00 UTC/server time? I know it’s probably silly, but you never know.
Thanks Gaile!
My guild does missions every Saturday right after reset – are you saying we shouldn’t bother this Saturday?
This is really short sighted. I urge Anet to change this plan slightly.
Many guilds, including mine, do guild mission nights every Saturday after reset. Some people in my guild (including my wife, who is a guild officer and runs these events) plan their entire day around “Saturday is Guild Night.” By pushing this back, you are making it impossible to do our biggest weekly event. Kicking the game’s social community in the shins is not going to go over well.
Instead, it would be better do do a double reset, on Satruday as normal, then at the new time on Monday. This will result in more rewards for some people, but that is a very small price to pay for allowing guilds to keep their current schedules.
you have 4 1/2 days to get the word out…… chop chop.
For those saying its gonna “mess up” their guild mission night, its not. So this Saturday still counts for this week, so you don’t do it this weekend then next Saturday you continue as if nothing has changed. If you do other events along with mission, just skip missions and do your other event. Really not a big deal.
I, also, was wondering about the key reset.
This is really short sighted. I urge Anet to change this plan slightly.

Just postpone the guild missions one week. You still get it done but it’s not at reset. I don’t understand what the big issue is. Reset still happen on Monday. Get your Guild Missions done before Monday.

The issue is we have to cancel our biggest event for a week. This is when we are all online, get together and do the missions, then break up into dungeons, fractals, pvp groups, etc. It is THE time of the week for hanging out in our guild. Some people in our guild ONLY come for this social event – they will never hear about this change until it’s too late, pizza and beer in hand, only to discover noone else is online.
So make sure that you’re online and ready to go straight to dungeons, fractals etc. I’m not trying to tell you you’re wrong (our guild missions are Sunday afternoon so we’re in the same boat) but not doing guild missions doesn’t mean you have to scrap your other plans.
Edit: also personally I’d prefer of it was Thursday, not Monday, gives you a “fresh” raid for the weekend.

So you’re saying being kicked in the shins is OK, as long as nobody kicks too hard. You guys are great.
My guild does missions every Saturday right after reset – are you saying we shouldn’t bother this Saturday?
Pretty sure that’s accurate, because the reset will happen a week from tomorrow and not this coming Saturday.
So you’re saying being kicked in the shins is OK, as long as nobody kicks too hard. You guys are great.
ANet has decided that the best course of action for the game is to have no reset this Saturday.
Just because guild missions don’t reset doesn’t mean that suddenly you have to cancel the entire night. Maybe instead of guild missions get a picture scavenger hunt organized. You’ve got until this weekend to do so. Or do Obsidian Sanctum. Or do a run of jumping puzzles.
You’re making a mountain out of a mole hill. And yes, mole hills are annoying, but no need to blow it out of proportion.
This seems like a really good idea to me. Mondays make a lot of sense for reset. It gives guilds the weekends to put in that last ditch effort if it’s needed in a raid.
I do think Anet should have given guilds at least a full week’s notice though. It doesnt affect me (our missions are on Monday nights already), but those that did missions this past weekend will be a little behind.
Also, just because it will gnaw at me if I don’t say it – to Anet, remember that raids are not guild content. They are 10 person content. Do not let raid development hinder – in any way – development of new guild missions. This game is about the community and large group activities – raiding, as fun as I hope it is, needs to take a back seat to that – at the same level as the other small group stuff like story, fractals, dungeons and spvp. I know that is probably already the case, but it needs saying.
So you’re saying being kicked in the shins is OK, as long as nobody kicks too hard. You guys are great.
No, I think we’re not taking this as personally as you are though. It’s a fact, it’s going to happen this weekend, once only, you can only make the best of it.
Also, you can still do them, you just won’t get new rewards for them.

So moving it from Saturday at 17:00 PDT to Monday at 0:30 PDT, 31 1/2 hour delay, is some kind of horrid change? At least they gave us the heads up.
No, I think we’re not taking this as personally as you are though. It’s a fact, it’s going to happen this weekend, once only, you can only make the best of it.
Isn’t it going to be for all guild missions from here onwards? It’s not like raids are going to disappear, right?
Some of you are saying it’s not a big deal. But, in fact, it is. Not everyone is connected online all the time. Some people won’t hear about this until they log on for missions. And less than a week is not much time to plan an alternate activity. And for some people, this may be the only activity they show up for, so an alternate activity may have no appeal to them.
You can’t judge it from your own perspective. You have to look at it from other people’s perspectives. It doesn’t do a very good job of building the GW2 community if one of the major activities in the game gets hamstrung at very short notice.
Sure, it is only one week. But that’s a big deal for some people. Maybe that’s all they do in GW2. And the short notice is, frankly, a bit rude.
I agree with what was said above: do a double reset. Once at the current time, and then again at the newly scheduled time. I doubt very few guilds will be able to coordinate fast enough to get double loot between Sat night and Mon. And if they do, so what? Is that game breaking?
Personally, I’ll deal with it just fine, even though I look forward to my guild’s missions night. But I’m pretty laid back. But I feel this is a significant misstep, and do not blame anyone for getting upset over it.

Getting upset about it and offering suggestions for how to work it better if it’s possible to change at this point is all fine and good. But some were blowing it out of proportion.
It would be tough for small guilds like mine to complete guild missions with this change. We usually do guild missions soon after the reset in hopes to run into a big guild that is planning to do the run. With this change, the hardcore and/or big guilds will be doing the runs after Monday reset, leaving us with less options available on Saturday night.

Just a suggestion, let us do guild missions 2x-3x per week, why call it guild missions if we do so little with guild together :S We need to be allowed to do them more frequent!
wow people are getting super upset by this, just like EVERYTHING anet does. Theres always a group of people who get upset at anything anet does, even if anet gives every player 100 gems someone will complain. This change is happening, plan around it.

No, I meant that it’s only one time this weekend that his guild will miss out on their usual Saturday guild missions: they would have done them last Saturday and because of this change they won’t have reset in time for this Saturday so they’ll miss out. They will reset on Monday so they’ll be OK to do them next Saturday and every subsequent Saturday.

100 gems is kind of like chicken feed. And they don’t even feed the chickens here.

The thing everyone wants is 105 gems! This is just an obvious cash grab by ArenaNet because of… reasons!
Just do a double-reset for this week. That would be progressive and unlike other MMOs/companies.

That would seem to be a good idea to me. I mean, any guild that does their Guild Missions on the weekend wouldn’t even notice a difference then. They’ll do them once this weekend and once next weekend.
A guild that does their missions during the week might do a second set over the weekend but that makes very little real difference in the grand scheme of things.

Waiting for an answer on this, also. ^-^’’
This literally doesn’t affect my guild at all. Thanks for the heads up, Gaile! I would be interested in the personal story key reset time as well.

Thank you. That was exactly my point.
It’s not the schedule change that’s the bother – that’ll be absorbed into the rotation the next week. The issue is the LOSS of one of our normal Saturday events. Sure, it’s only one week, but it’s very annoying, and very rude of Anet.
Rude is not warning you.
Some of you are saying it’s not a big deal. But, in fact, it is.
Did you mean that some people think it’s a big deal? Because, as a factual matter, it affects one out of a potential 52 mission nights over a 364-day period. How is that “big”?
Further, how else do you propose that they handle it?

I take your point now. I don’t see it as rude, though, I think it’s just an oversight. It is a shame that it’s happening at the end of “Guild Week” though, it is likely that there’ll be fewer guild related activities running this weekend because of it. It is a beta weekend though, that’ll be enough for a lot of those of us who have pre-purchased.

- Change it so that there are will be two resets within 7 days? Then people (presumably different ones) will complain that some groups got an advantage, since not everyone plays as often.
- Postpone the change to happen close to HoT’s launch? That means that ANet has to consider other potential issues, which in turn leaves less time to work on things that can’t be postponed.
If they push 2 resets in 7 days (normal on Saturday, new one one Monday, Monday from there on out), then anyone that goes to the effort will get a whopping 2-day head start on a whopping 7 guild commendations. Of course people will complain, but the actual gain is trivial. Compare that with (in effect) removing content, and it should be the obviously better choice.
Thanks for the heads up Gaile! Now we’ll get to try out a raid during our normal Gmissions time when we will have the most people on

Take this opportunity to have a break from the same boring old guild missions and run your own! Hide and Seek instead of bounty, Jumping puzzle race instead of guild puzzle. Prizes dont have to be extravagant for guildies to have fun! and you might even find that these are more team building than the actual guild events. Try to look on the bright side instead of only the negative side!
You can pm me in game if you have any questions about these alternative events, Ive run them for my old guilds plenty of times!
What’s not clear, and this just occurred to me, is this a one time thing because of the beta weekend or is this a permanent change?

It’s not at all obvious that it’s a “better” choice to me, since they aren’t “removing” content — at the very worst, they are removing a single opportunity to earn a certain set of rewards.
If the actual “gain” of providing two resets within 7 days is “trivial” then isn’t it equally true that the actual “loss” of allowing only 1 reset in 10 days is equally trivial?
What’s not clear, and this just occurred to me, is this a one time thing because of the beta weekend or is this a permanent change?
Sounds like permanent, not 100% sure though.
It sounds permanent to me. “Starting X Monday, resets will take place at this time each Monday.” Which suggests ongoing Mondays.
I feel that we should still receive our reset on Saturday evening. Many of our guild mates come to do missions for the merits to unlock our next upgrades and we’ve been working very hard to earn enough to unlock Guild Puzzles and Guild World Events before HoT. I believe this change is going to set us back from reaching our goal.
Communications Team Lead forgot to provide additional time for EU gamers. Thank you.
Of course we can do that by ourselves but yeah…

Except you can still do your runs on the exact same night as always, just with a slight one week hiccup this coming weekend. There’s no rule you have to do the run the moment reset happens, is there? Just that you can only do it once during the week. (Unless bugs build up during the week in the missions, I don’t know, my guild’s too small for missions).
Communications Team Lead forgot to provide additional time for EU gamers. Thank you.

Could have converted to UTC but that would have benefited EUers and left NA players scratching their heads.
They really should do two resets. Didn’t they use to do two daily resets like ALL THE TIME whenever they made a change on patch day? I feel like remember it happening a lot that people who had done there daily’s got on and found that they could do it again that day and it really wasn’t a huge deal. The ONLY thing many people in my guild come online to do are guild missions and if we are not able to do them on saturday we will not be opening GW2 and that isn’t a threat just a sad truth.
:(
This is really annoying. My guild does missions on Saturday nights
Could you move the timer to a bit earlier in the morning? All of europe will get the reset too late to be able to start anything on Monday night expect eventually for those at the most western part.
This is really short sighted. I urge Anet to change this plan slightly.

It’s one night, you miss one weekend of missions and then you can continue to do it every saturday just like you do now, the time of the actual reset is largely irrelevant aside from the single extended week.
:(

And you still can, you’ll miss ONE night of rewards for saturday missions, then guess what, the following saturday you do missions, and get the same rewards you get every other saturday but one!!!111oneone
