Guild Missions Now a Nightmare
Who thought of these things?
Guild advertises in guild chat that we are going to do a guild puzzle. Assembles, advertises again, then starts. After a few minutes someone logs on and asks us what we are doing. “Guild puzzle”, we answer. “Oh, let me get there!” he says.
Nope. You can’t join us. NO SOUP FOR YOU!
A few minutes later someone DC’s. Ends up out side the map. “Can someone portal me in?” He asks.
Nope. You can’t join us. NO SOUP FOR YOU!
Who thought of things that guilds can do together, but can’t?
ANet may give it to you.
Guild Missions are literally easier than they have ever been. If you get a bug, restart it and fix it. Also, the PvP one wouldn’t give credit to the other team. You do realize this, right?
Are you just doing them wrong?
Bounty
Why are we blacking out the bounties if it is just going to be the same one every time? Everyone and their mother has “Poobadoo” this week so one random person in a 1 person guild walks up and starts it while we are waiting for people to show up for credit.
I guess I’m neither everyone or their mother, since I got Brekkabrekk.
I don’t know what size guild your is, but as someone in a small to medium guild, I’m the other way. I found them a nightmare before, so much that we just never bothered.
Now we’re doing them all the time! Also – we get Trillia Midwell, not Poobadoo!

Who knows. I rerolled it like 7 times to see and it was Poobadoo everytime O_o

No as in we had like 3-4 teams Q. Teams A and B won but team C gets the credit. We started it again later with just 1 team. That team lost but got the reward anyway,
O-o

That is due to unfortunate way in which PvP mission completion is managed. You usually get some goals (rank points, participation points etc) and must pass a certain threshold of those in given time. Once you do, the first team that finishes their match ends the mission (regardless of whether they won or lost). All the teams that finished up to that point will get rewarded, but any teams that were still in game and finished later will not. That’s even if those teams contributed more.

We failed to find Brek the first time. Rerolled and got Brek again. Failed again. Rerolled and got Brek a third time, succeeded. So it may be that it gets stuck on whichever bounty comes up on the first roll. I didn’t mind that at all, since it’s easier to keep trying one bounty than to get a new one every time if you are unfortunate. If that’s a bug, I hope they never get around to fixing it. (Which is a good bet given ANet’s track record on minor bugs.)
We’ve gotten Trillia 2/2 times doing an Easy bounty.
Treks work great if the number of people participating is less than or equal to the number of locations, and you’re organized enough to make sure that each person go somewhere unique. Aiming for cycles of players equal to half the number of locations is easiest. It sounds like a giant pain when that isn’t the case. But removing commendations would be an awful idea, because as it stands that would mean one of your limited opportunities to get commendations each week would be further reduced when you rolled Trek. You’d need to also remove them from the rotation for that to make any sense.
Our biggest issue has been getting Guild Rush to work properly. How it behaves when there is an existing rush going on is unclear. Does anyone have more information on how Guild Rushes work when another guild is running one?
My guess so far, based on only a couple attempts: If you come upon an active rush, and then activate Your Guild’s rush mission, then only players who interact with the banner to start a trial after you initiated the mission will count towards your success. If enough people (who began it since you triggered your guild’s mission – not just since the current guild mission started) successfully complete the Rush during the time frame Your Guild’s rush is active, then your guild is considered to have succeeded. If you try to trigger your mission at the same time another guild starts theirs, if you’re not fast enough you may miss the start of first wave of attempts (even if just by seconds), meaning the event counter won’t reflect all of the success that count for you, and you’ll need to make sure extra people make it though. Oh, and I’ve never seen the end chest spawn if another guild’s mission was active in the world.
Any insights people might have about how Guild Rush success and credit is working would be appreciated.

But did you kill him any of those times?
I’m guessing it sticks to the same one unless you kill then, then gives a different one until you kill that one.
We got Brek first time, killed him, got Poob the second time, didn’t launch a third one.
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
True, horrible changes. Why change a working formula? The randomness is a kitten too. We don’t wanna do PvP kitten, we only wanna do PvE. So instead of doing 5 things every Sunday, we do 3 random PvE things. Since release of HOT I never did puzzle again, and puzzle is the one I love the most.
‘would of been’ —> wrong

This isn’t a complete solution, but have you set the guild’s mission focus to PvE?
We don’t wanna do PvP kitten, we only wanna do PvE.
Change your setting to PvE only then? Click on the gear icon somewhere on the top left of missions window
