50,000 influence?! On top of Art of War 5? I love this update but that kills it for any smaller guilds. Or am i missing something?
EDIT: Actually read the article (teehee) and now it doesn’t seem tooooo bad.
Only thing that sort of bothers me is the 50K influence since you already need to spend over 30K to even to get to that point, even so the rewards that you get from it might actually make up for that – im pretty excited for it, and having precursors part of the loot table is a huge bonus ;o !

This looks awesome! can’t wait to get started. It is far better then I originally pictured. It looks like there will b actual progression. I was afraid that larger guilds could just buy their way through the content, but these influence numbers should allow actual progression over time of the content.

But from what i understand, alliance wont be the same as guild event started by your guild.
Yes you can participate, but you will only get 2 commendations. You wont get loot+50s on the end. And that loot matters, because 2 rares or higher? And a precursor change?
But hey, we made influence usable only in WvW(mainly) and now we will punish smaller guild for using it. Nice one Anet,really.

From the hub article, you still have to spend gold in addition to the commendations to get the items?

And there in lies part of the problem…….If this ends up being like it sounds players will scatter from smaller guilds and flock to larger ones.

Multi-guilding should help people concerned if their guild is too small to kick off missions until they build enough influence to do it themselves.

I don’t know how small your guild is, but sharing that cost across its members will probably be worthwhile. Naturally you’d need to do that a couple of times to get access to all the missions, but unlocking a mission every week/ two weeks or so and doing it as a guild could be a fun way to manage things rather than just getting access to everything at once.
It sounds like a lot of points, but it’s not unachievable. You just kinda need to want it. It’s also obviously based on progression beyond just the influence requirements. In addition, it will form a clear delineation between small guilds willing to work together and earn the influence/gold necessary to gain access to these missions and small guilds not willing to do this – and the former could use their efforts as a recruiting tool. I might be being idealistic, but this strikes me as much about teamwork for smaller guilds outside of the missions as much as within, and I like that.
Multi-guilding should help people concerned if their guild is too small to kick off missions until they build enough influence to do it themselves.
They won’t build up enough influence – that influence will end up in bigger guilds they will be playing in for the new content.

Guh! While I quite like what I read there, it just bugs me that the message seems to be “yes, you need to be in a big guild because of the huge costs, especially if you want the loot/rewards, and yes, small guilds can go to kitten.”

Hopefully the commendations and reward and all that are for everyone. I’m guessing they aren’t though due to 50s + 2 rares being pretty big.
Should scale the rewards down some and allow everyone that participated to get it. Not just because it helps people in smaller/no guilds, but because I want a reason to play in other people’s guild events too.

I have no problem with content aimed for large groups. I have problem with content that is exclusive to larger groups. After all, big groups are in no way restricted in participating in small group activities.

The first Bounty mission requires only two champion-level bosses to be killed in 15 minutes. Unless those champions have a very large amount of health, a guild of 4-6 could easily do it.

With 5 people, it will take 5 runs.
And there is speculation that the cost may be lowered to 30k influence.
