Q:

Okay, Obviously Leader is top, then Officer, Member, and so on. But, I’m confused about custom ranks/titles and their place in the pecking order?

If I make a custom title/rank, can a member that is able to recruit, edit that ranks’ permissions? Is a custom rank low man on the totem pole or does it depend on their permissions? i.e Member > Guild Mission Leader or would it be Guild Mission Leader > Member ?

Help..

You can move the ranks around by dragging them up and down the list.

You can set the permissions for custom ranks.

And that places them in the hierarchy?

Kind of, the hierarchy is based on permissions. So by setting permissions you are setting up the ranks.

The permissions and their place in the hierarchy are completely separate, the only one you can’t move is the leader rank. But it’s probably best to keep them in order from most > least permissions so it’s clear to the members.

But this can be tricky with ‘special’ ranks. For example in one of my guilds I have a special ‘scribe’ rank, all the same permissions as normal members but also a few related to using decorations. Officially it’s the same as the normal member rank, but it has to be either above or below it in the list.

In my private bank guild I have 3 ranks with identical permissions – one for me, one for my husband and one for my free account. And then a 4th called ‘Wtf’ with only the ‘new members here’ permission.
