Guild Roster: Last Log-In Unknown?
Sometime in mid march is when it started tracking is what I remember reading.
As the leader of a small guild, I have to say I like this feature. However, many players on my list are still listed as “Unknown” for their last log in. While debating whether to kick these players, it occurred to me that the time away from the game for “Unknown” is, well, unknown.
How long has a player to be away from the game for them to receive that listing?
Longer than March 1st
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
Thank you for your quick replies. Do either of you have a source?
Actually from on of the live streams they said when that once you log in your last login should be updated

I hate to sound like a jerk, Soren, but that doesn’t answer the question, “How long must a player be away from the game for them to receive that listing?”
I don’t want to kick players that have only been gone a month. Vorch’s answer is good, but I’d like some confirmation, like maybe a live stream link or a dev post.
I have a player on my roster who was last online 2 months and 5 days ago, which is obviously weeks before March 1st.
I like this feature, but it’s pretty useless if it’s just gonna list “Unknown” for most of the inactive people. They could have at least picked a date and listed them as “Longer than X months Y days” or something.
It is not “longer than x months y days”. It’s anyone that didn’t log in after they started tracking this information. I’m not sure when exactly they started doing so (they explained this in some post or livestream) but it was somewhere this year. Most likely in February, though i don’t remember it that well to be sure.
Anyway, anyone “unknown” definitely hasn’t logged in for over two months now.
Remember, remember, 15th of November

It isn’t the best temporary solution, but while they work it out/you get a source on the date, you can check the achievement point leaderboards and filter by “guild”. If you hover over their points, it should say when it was last updated which tends to be around the last time they logged in.
Why it took this long, or is that difficult for ANet to have added this in game is beyond me.
Great idea, Mimir! I’ll do that. Thank you all for your replies.
Except the Leaderboards are beyond messed up right now, since the patch. You might wait a bit before making any decisions.
From what I have seen with the “unknown” this is from the last server reset, Where the server was actually taken offline for a short period.
In my guild we have three players that had their location as unknown since that time and with the new update they are listed as unknown in both location and last logged in.
If I remember correctly the last time my server was taken offline was over 6 months ago. But I could be wrong since I don’t play everyday.

Lead, Follow, or get the hell out of my way.
We have about 200 ppl in our guild and it seem that ppl get Unknown if its been more than 3 months (the last ppl with a date is like 2 month and 19 days.
Do I don’t know if people are automatically unknown after 3 months or its just because its been about 3 months since they started to track this time. Well see if in like in 2 week i have ppl that been offline since 3 months and a couple days, then its probably the second hypothesis.

I just looked at the leader boards and they look fine. What makes you think they’re messed up?
